I'm getting old. I remember this.
Also here's a nice "whatever happened to Brian Diesbourg" feature, the guy who Kicked For A Million. (Perhaps the 2nd greatest promotion ever.)

I was at both of those events, and weirdly, I was by myself for both of them (used to live next door to the dome, so went to a lot of games like that). But boy, what a blast. The Kick for a Million particularly stands out, because it must have been the first or second year of that promotion, and it was a big crowd, and no one left their seats. When he did it, people in my section went pretty crazy, jumping up and high fives all over the place. Good times.
Kick for a Million definitely peaked the first year. Nobody ever came close to winning again. Did anybody even make the 40 yarder in subsequent years?
Diesbourg's kick was one of the most fun moments ever at SkyDome.
Diesbourg's kick was a nice bit of creme on Argos' 2005 11-7 first place season and one of my most vivid memories of the year.
Kick for a million was great, a group of my friends specifically went for that, thought it was awesome, then left at the start of the 4th as the game was a blowout.
The one year they tried a tonne of stuff. Tony hawk, Austin Powers bobbleheads. All you can eat pizza.
It'll be interesting what this marketing team comes up with.
At least there's no more wet t-shirt contests
omg....I remember that like it was yesterday...wow, how time flies!
The wet tshirt contests were another reason my nfl loving friends went to an argos game.
in total my friends have been to 3 games, kick for a million, Austin Powers bobblehead, (which I think coincided with all you can eat pizza) and wet tshirt, of course the wet tshirt never happenned. But you still got something like 3 beers and d 2 hot dogs for 10 bucks at the "tailgate". But they ran out of hot dogs and started giving 5 beers for 10 bucks.
best promotion ever. And least for someone in their early 20s.
Still bewildered by the mascot chasing her.
