I installed some new video software and used it as an excuse to put together a highlight package of Ricky Williams' debut in 2006. The hype, all of his plays that day, and a post-game interview.

I miss the days of an I formation under center. Forget Ricky, Jeff Johnson shouldve been given more opportunity throughout his career. Really wasn't a pure FB. Easily could be RB1.
Ricky Williams did not light the league on fire, but wasn't as bad as some want to remember.
Well it looks like a successful video compilation! It was cool to re-experience all the nostalgia and hype at the time. Thanks do doing this Paul!
I thought he was going to run for 4000 yards in a season facing CFL scrub defensive players. ;o)
I was one of those who just couldn't stomach the hype.
It was the hype that was evidence of the inferiority complex of Toronto sports fans. "A big star American football player coming to play here?!"
Ricky Williams carried the ball 109 times for 526 yards with an average of 4.83 yards per carry and caught 19 passes for 127 yards in 11 games. So alright but not really good.
Yeah, there's that. Gashing his Achilles tendon on a door might not have helped his averages. I wish he'd stayed another year so that we might have seen what he could do.
:snack:
It wasn't Ricky's fault that the OC (Kent Austin) had no interest in developing any sort of running game.
Be nice to snag a interview with him today reflecting on this time..
I have some signed copies of his Toro magazine spread.
