This move must have been made because Kuale was released. Also, another DE of yours was injured and place on the 9-game. Does Stewart have anything left in the tank?
I would have thought Popp would have a young prospect in the pipeline instead of reaching out to a 37 year old vet.
That tells me Jim doesn't think AC's gonna make it through the year.
IMO, I think that it may be more like he doesn't think that AC will return next year. Clearly, AC is not enjoying playing this season and once the fun goes, then it may be time to call it quits. Someone else mentioned this in another thread but Condredge Holloway has said that he knew it was time to retire when he started worrying, first and foremost, about being hit. Calvillo looks to be in that situation this season.
Calvillo hung around 1 year too long!!
Yeah, it would be foolish and premature to write off the Als at this point as much as many would like to do so. I remember Montreal finishing both the '05 and '06 regular seasons poorly and looking like they were ready to have the knockout blow delivered to them but they still beat us both years in the East Final.
I may be way off base here, but I thik AC is done. It wouldn't surprise me if he came up with some sort of mysterious injury so that he doesn't have to finish the year. I think they may be the worst team in the league.
I said that they finished that season poorly. They were blown out by the Argos in a first place battle at the Big Owe and then lost to lowly Hamilton in their final game (granted they rested a number of starters). Conversely, the Argos seemed to be hitting their stride late that season and seemed to have more momentum going into the post-season than the Als had.
