Does it not strike anyone else as unusual that the DL coach has been named, but not the DC?
CORRECTION: As reported first by gilthethrill, Sage Doxtater (o-lineman drafted in 2021) has signed a contract in the UFL. Presumably we won't see him before 2025 at the earliest.
I’m wondering if Maxie might also be a candidate for DC. He’s paid his dues for sure, with good success. Maybe Pinball sees something special in his former teammate. Maybe they lock him in for the D-line and take a few days to see if his philosophy meshes with RD.
One thing the signing tells us is that Costigan will be an important cog on the D-line. He kinda flew under the radar last year but he got 6 sacks, the same number as both Oakman and Hendrix.
We'll have to find out how UFL contracts bind the players. I believe USFL and XFL allowed players to leave at any time for an NFL offer, but not for a CFL offer. It would be nice to think Doxtater might be able to come north after this UFL season, but he might be tied to an option year down there.
I think we are all just anxious to see who the DC will be. I am pretty sure they know, and for some reason (maybe waiting for a current contract to expire) are holding back the announcement. I personally, don't think they would have hired a D-line coach without consulting with the yet to be announced DC, so I'm guessing they have an agreement with someone to be DC, just haven't made it official.
I do agree with Argo57 though, it is unusual to fill position coaches officially before the coordinator is announced.
The Argos have signed American DT Jordan Williams who had a productive season last year with the Memphis Showboats of the now defunct USFL.
Count me as worried it will be one, and that one won't be a linebacker.
CFL.ca does not have listed as a pending FA, but yes, when the Argos acquired him, I too was under the impression he was entering his last season on that contract. I think his preference is to play for a team in the Eastern Football Conference due to off field business reasons.
FWIW, "It remains to be seen how the Argonauts will differentiate defensive lineman Jordan Williams from linebacker Jordan Williams, though the latter remains a pending free agent and isn’t guaranteed to be back with the team."

This LINK released by 3DownNation in November does not list Jordan Williams as a free agent.
I thought “the old” Jordan Williams was a bit of a disappointment last year, he seemed to struggle against the run, IMO probably not worth the big non-import dollars someone will throw at him.
