No it isn't, the bar is there sure, but there is so much more. It is easily the grittiest Star Trek series, it takes risks and explores areas that the writers would only dream of under Mr. Roddenberry.

You won't regret it
I don't disagree that the show is trying to find itself in the first season but I think the second season is where it starts picking up. Also if you can deal with TNG season one and two than DS9 season one and two are a cakewalk in comparison.

I'm skeptical too. Abrams should be satisfied with inventing Star Trek and leave the Star Wars franchise to someone with a different vision.
Only a matter of time before they merge the two. Expect a romance between Spock and Chewbacca. lol.
