I think this man is the ultimate candidate. He loves the league, knows how to lead, is very well connected.
I did send him a twitter message, and asked him to throw his hat in the ring. But can he afford the pay cut? hehe
Seriously I cannot think of anyone better.
Where is your proof that he "loves the league?"
Why would Harper want to do all that work when he can get paid for doing next to nothing with some corporate board or a law firm?
1. Harper is a hockey fanatic -- have no evidence he ever paid much attention to the CFL.
2. Harper was the most widely despised PM since the first Trudeau. Yes, he had fans and supporters, but pretty well everyone else loathed the guy.
1 - He did make appearances at several high-profile CFL games, but yeah his first love is hockey (which is fine).
2 - Yes he is probably one of the most divisive PM's in Canadian history.
3 - I've met him, a nice guy, but not the most charismatic.

I agree. In addition, Harper's Conservatives ran the anti-immigrant "barbaric practices" campaign during the last election, which alienated much of the buildup of support among minorities for the Conservatives that had happened in the previous decade. Since the CFL has just begun a diversity campaign to broaden its fan base, picking Harper would immediately destroy that before it had any significant effect.Quote:
