Holloway getting stripped at 39:35 reminds me of the play that happened in the "Tuck Rule" game between New England and the Raiders. I wish the Argos had gone back to these uniforms. I'm not a big fan of their current garb.
I don't understand how an OL can give up 100+ sacks. This was unit that featured Dan Ferrone, Kelvin Pruenster (and later in the year) Chris Schultz, all of whom would be part of a pretty good OL just a year or two later.
There was some debate about this on Twitter, and there might have been a rule change in 1990, which is part of the reason why you don't see teams get 70-80 sacks in a season anymore.
Nonetheless, from watching some of these games, Condredge was under relentless pressure at times in 1986.
I was living in Calgary and covering the Stampeders in 1986. I was at the Argo game there that season (which IIRC was either the first or second game back for Minter; I interviewed him for my pre-game story). Holloway got sacked either 11 or 12 times that day, I believe. It was insane.
Here is said article for anyone interested:

This is awesome to see 38 years later. I don't think I have a clipping of that story. For the record, although my byline is on the piece, I wrote only the Tor-Cal stuff. I either copied and pasted stuff from the other games that day, or (more likely) an editor in Toronto blended my post-game story (which would have had a couple hundred more words about the Calgary game) with reports from the other two games into a "roundup" sent late in the day to papers publishing the next afternoon.
A blast from the past! - you old-timer Paul.
An Ottawa crowd of just over 13K ? - wow - I do not recall crowds that paltry then; I was likely at that Ottawa game (have to check my old ticket stub collection) as I usually went to Argo visits to Lansdowne; period of many bad Ottawa teams that led to the eventual folding; makes the recent RedBlacks attendances of just under 20K last season for a poor team seem decent; but mind you Ottawa's population is now likely over 300K more compared to then - way more to draw from.
And it was back in 86 that I sent a letter to the CFL office, lamenting the lack of (IMO anyhow then) CFL coverage in the media; and whoever in the CFL office was kind enough to reply and sent me a free copy of the CFL's Facts, Figures & Records yearbook (was that the 1st edition?)

Here is the game from the week before that Argos played Edmonton at CNE Stadium. It is joined in progress, however I did send Calgary Stampeders Classics a two disc DVD of this game, which is hopefully the full version. The one posted, I believe, he got from Craig Ellis.
Oh Oh Oh Oh Argo Glide! I enjoyed listening to the comments about the lack of action/scoring by Pat Marsden. Some nice kick returns by the late, great, Darrell Smith (not D.K. Smith at this point). Holloway and Dunigan sure took a lot of hits this game, which ended quite dramatically.
Interestingly enough, I did find a transaction list for the Argos from July 1986 where he is referred to as Darrell K. Smith, which I didn't think started until 1989 or 1990.

Argo QB Jeff Joslin dressed for 3 games that season (his career) recording no stats.
