This indeed seems hard to believe because Trump is always trumpeting what he has done (or at least claimed to have done) and never acts as the man behind the scenes, as his campaign PR consultant Michael Caputo claims in the article.
Fake news, the team was always Pegula's to lose. Tom Golisano didn't even bid because he didn't want to negatively impact Pegula's bid.
Also fake news. The estate of Ralph Wilson was not going to sell the team to anyone who would move them as long as there were other local suitors. They saw right through Rogers-Tannanbaum and Bon Jovi.
I think the estate kept them around to create any kind sense of a bidding war.
Yup. Remember towards the end there was supposedly two mystery buyers that exceeded all other offers........... Pegula went pretty quick to $1.4 Billion after initially offering under $1 Billion IIRC.Quote:
