They will go as far as their quarterbacking takes them.
I agree with you about BLM. Masoli won't be ready to play until September at the earliest so I can't see Ottawa anointing him as their #1 QB in 2024. It feels to me like Dru Brown may land in Ottawa.
Reports tonight have Bo Levi Mitchell returning to QB the Ticats in 2024 on a restructured contract. Given that he hasn't had a good season in 5 or 6 years, I am not convinced that this will work out...
I disagree. I don't think that the Ticats are better than the Als. I think that they are, at best, a mediocre team. They may get to 8-10 at best this year, (and I wouldn't bet on that) which would be...
Yeah, I have to disagree with OV also. I honestly didn't think that Butler would be good with the Ticats but he has been, after a somewhat slow start.
At this point, his salary is guaranteed for the rest of the season and they don't want it counting against the cap. They have effectively closed him down for the season and he will likely be released...
Big surprise.
Looks like the final playoff spot is going to be a battle between Hamilton, Ottawa, Calgary and Edmonton. Ottawa has to win what is effectively a "gimme" game this week (Redblacks...
I was so certain that Edmonton was going to beat Hamilton in Edmonton a few weeks ago and got burned when I picked the Elks then.
I can honestly see Edmonton winning tonight but I am not picking them in my pool.
I have to say that the Ticats have been lagging the past few years in recruiting their own quality players.
It will be interesting to see how Milanovich does, as his offence seemed to be getting a little stale by his final season in Toronto (2016).
They also pulled Bo off the six-game injured list a game or two early this time so they're on the hook for that salary. They will probably get a break on his salary for the next six games though as I...
If they hadn't taken that stupid, undisciplined penalty after the final Ottawa offensive play, they could have kneeled down twice without worry.
I am sure that there is a greater sense of urgency for the Ticats right now, given Ottawa's win last night and the Ticats playing a huge game in Ottawa this Friday night. They don't want to dig too...
For sure. The second incident that Paul cited was probably the clincher in the Argos deciding to move on from Edwards, although Dinwiddie was clearly pissed after the incident in the Ottawa game last...
I was thinking last night and during the off-season, to be honest, that the Ticats are not a well-constructed team.
You're likely right about Shiltz, AV, but I just don't know how much Bo Levi...
I am thinking the same to be honest.
Obviously, Kelly has questions to answer, but Bo Levi hasn't had a strong season since 2018 or 2019, Masoli hasn't played much since 2018, and Arbuckle has been stuck in neutral since a promising...
I am not prepared to write the Ticats off at this point, but I have never understood why so many consider them the favourites in the East Division. The lack of respect that the defending Grey Cup...
Some good controversy to begin the season. [/INDENT]
I am not convinced that the Ticats are going to be much better in 2023 than they were in 2022. Time will tell. Needless to say, a lot of it will have to do with how Bo Levi performs.
You hit the nail on the head here, AV. I am really surprised that Butler didn't stay in B.C. The grass isn't always greener elsewhere and I suspect it won't be for him in Hamilton.
Sayles is a good player with potential but $200k seems steep at this point in his career.
They have reportedly lost Jovan Santos-Knox to Ottawa though, which is a big blow to the Ticats.
