Exactly.
Well, I realize that we are in the Barker - Milanovich era, and it really is an era.
An amusing post, AV, and I mean that in a good way.
I fear that we are both correct.
B&M could have obtained DW for free: all they had to do is wait until the end of the season.
What if LeFevour plays well enough to start for the rest of this...
Tell us why - apart from completely inappropriate favouritism and, of course, the sunk cost fallacy - should the Argos "now ... have Willy as #1" ?
Anyway, Willy won't be starting until LeFevour...
Oh the humanity.
Barker was remarkably defensive about the trade when interviewed lately.
If it doesn't pan out I won't fail to say "I told you so" probably just as B & M leave the scene of the "crime".
If it...
I can only speak for myself. To me, Kilgore is not a "bust" - insufficient evidence. Yes, I agree he played two bad games. Did I want him on the field (at QB) with the team's playoff life on the...
LeFevour has proven for all to see, after one game, that he is precisely our best QB option. Or are you talking about next week, next month, next year? No, I didn't think so. Neither am I.
Um... you forgot LeFevour in you list of competitors. (BTW, draft picks and dollars, and Milanovich's predilection for pylons, mean favouritism for Drew Willy.)
It's no more foolish to assume...
I can find a half-dozen reasons to really dislike this trade.
It's interesting to note that the several superlatives that Milanovich has just attached to Willy are the very qualities that Walters...
(I think) almost everyone on this board thought Ray was playing pretty well and was not a liability, all things considered.
The problem is rather that the current supporting cast requires (ahem)...
Milanovich's quite uncharacteristic coyness in a couple of recent interviews was a strong signal.
Corollary 2 : cue Argos Brain Trust: "Yes, this time around we won't procrastinate. Let's not wait until LeFevour wins a few games (... in crunch time...). Let's screw him over right away."
What has happened is exactly what I was afraid was going to happen. This trade is completely irrational and Barker was fleeced. This is the nonsense that 'cover your ass' mode induces.
Barker paying so dearly and kneecapping the future for the QB that Winnipeg values less than Kevin Glenn. Madness.
There are already two veteran QBs on the roster. There are 3 newbies in development.
A good scenario to develop your own damn QB (Barker) and keep him this time (Milanovich).
Draft picks, big...
As a corollary, Barker has immediately doused the campfire of a most timely (i.e., essential) LeFevour-led win.
Moronic. Absolutely moronic.
