I've always liked Kerry but we tried to kill his career as we did with Tracy Ham.

What is it with QB's that come to Toronto from other teams?
Folks, back away from the ledge...... Let's not go crazy here.
Joseph had one great season playing for Austin. The rest of his career has been ho-hum-and-yawn. Jyles is not going to set the world on fire either.
Ray is on pace for a solid season. He's hit a bump in the road. To be expected during the course of the season. Plus he needs help fom the Receivers and OL. For what he has to work with right now his career is not being tarnished. He is still the best QB the Argos have had since Flutie. Let's look at the whole of his work. Not just a brief synopsis of a couple of games.
Well said, Nob. Coming on here tonight, you think that we are 0-8 and going nowhere this season instead of being 4-4, in sole possession of second place, two points back of Montreal and with the best defence in the east (despite the poor game last night). Yes, there are problems but these kinds of growing pains were to be expected considering how bad the last four years in total have been.
Cameron Dukes + Dan Adeboboye + Kevin Mital + David Ungerer + Damonte Coxie + DaVaris Daniels + Dejon Brissett = Unstoppable Force
It's just so friggin up and down it can drive a fan nuts. At least two of the next three games I just don't like our chances. Well judging by Rays games at the dome we could be in real tough for the next three.
This is getting suspiciously close to one of those "fire all the management, trade all the players!" threads you see on Leaf forums.
When you keep hearing the hoopla all training camp about wanting to be in and win the 100th Grey Cup you expect more. The team may have won four games but it looks ok. Now Barker is saying he's happy with who we have and basically it's finding the proper combinations. I always cheer like we should win every game but I'm realist. You could see that out of camp we didn't do enough to help Ricky be great. I kept saying they need more than Ray. We very lucky that many teams are also underachieving this year. The 100th Grey Cup year and it's been a sloppy mess so far.
As good as some may think Carroll has been this year, I'll tip my hat for rookie DB to Joe Burnett in Edmonton. Solid returner as well.
That was a rookie mistake no doubt, makes you wonder how much Reed and the ST co-ordinator stressed staying in the end zone, maybe they give him the responsibility of making the decision making. That being said, having watched the Eskies on TV this year and seeing them live at the dome on August 27, Burnett's an excellent DB who is comparable to Carroll. I think it's a fair comparison, although I did not read if Burnett's ever played a regular season game in the NFL.
Why don`t we let this thread go away...so Carroll does not have to see this so high on the messageboard if he happens to read it. One week is enough punishment from a fan perspective. I don`t think he deserves to have this thread up here all season.
See I`m forgiving.
That`s it for me on this thread.
Great play by Carroll. The other great play, on the same play, belongs to Andre Proulx, the referee.
I've often thought that Proulx let games go goofy with too many penalties. The officiating crew did a great job on Monday. Proulx's moment came in that he didn't flag Isaac for Roughing the Passer on his push to Burris after the pass was thrown. I've seen lesser hits get flagged. It would have been a crime to take that pick six away with a RtP penalty. Good no call.
Chris Schultz brought up the soft ruffing the passer calls in the league these days during the panels game balls and flags segment. I agree that they have become way too protective of the QB these days. I have seen many instances when a defensive player wraps a QB and gets flagged for a low hit on the QB. Officials really need to know the difference between a hit and a wrap, and unfortunately I don't believe they do. IMO, Glen Johnson is the absolute worst at this.
It's us vs the rest of the country
#8 is now the CFL's defensive player of the week!
The one low one on Ray was a tackle below the knees not a late hit. That I can understand. Some of those touches or push backs are a total farce.
That doesn't sound like something Obie would do.................hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah ahaha
Since people have not heeded my last post on this thread ...I might as well come out and take credit for Ahmad Carroll's great game on Monday afternoon.
He responded very well and won Defensive Player of the Week...lol
Any requests for me to start another thread about warning a player to lookout for a garbage bag because he could be cut...just PM meIt just may have the same positive effect....You heard of the saying, "light a fire under their belly." Perhaps in an indirect and sub-conscience kind of way, this thread may have had a part of Carroll's game on Monday.
Chalk it up to positive emotion from fans who care about the team to honestly critique all performances good or bad.
We know one game should not make or break a carear, but is part of it....Hope Carroll remains consistent and does not see another Orange flag thrown in his direction for the rest of the year.
By the way, Paul Bennett was one of my favourite Argo players in that '84 season....tough tackler and excellent on one on one situations which is why I was shocked when Obie let him go as I've mentioned in the past. There may have been more to it, other than that game where he missed a tackle in the open field vs Saskatchewan, but you sure know Obie had it in for him once he found an on-field excuse to cut him....he probably asked Obie and Sazio for more money...lol.
