Peterson just 9 yards short of the record. He didn't seem to care. Happy with the 'W'.

I was hoping so bad for the Vikes to pull it out. Way too much heartbreak through the years. They have some great young players such as Walsh. Too bad Adrian didn't get his record but he gain his yardage with so many less carries than Dickerson had. A great season so far as I didn't expect this at all. It'll be very tough next week but at least they're in. Very happy Viking fan. Proud of this team as I was with our Argos.

Is Ponder that huge of a loss? It isn't like they have lost Peterson who is the one responsible for so much of their offence.

I'm looking forward to seeing Pederson and Webb run wild.

Half time and the Vikes are DONE! Webb looks like he's never played football before and that's not great for your backup qb. I didn't expect much this season, yet again and now we're going to lose to the Fudge Packers again. Perhaps before I die the Vikings will win. Not sure how season ticket holders of the so many NFL teams that have never won squat do it. Way too many teams. This game is CRAP!!!

Have I mentioned? THANK YOU TORONTO ARGONAUTS!!!!

If I were the Vikes, I'd shop Peterson in the off-season and try to get a Herschel Walker-type return. He'll never have a higher trade value than right now.

So was Herschel Walker for Dallas.

Seems like a big waste to have an elite player like Peterson if your team isn't a championship contender.

While the Vikings do have several notable areas to improve in, it isn't as if they are in the midst of a 1-15 season like the 1989 Dallas Cowboys were when they traded Herschel Walker to Minnesota. Besides, I don't think a team would be that dumb in this day of age to give out a Herschel Walker type return. Jimmy Johnson stripped the Vikings bare in that trade.

Maybe a trade that big couldn't happen again, but something close to it probably could. And guys who make trades like that aren't dumb, they usually think they're one big player away from competing for a championship. General Managers like that never go out of style in any sport.

Otherwise the Vikes better hope Ponder or someone else develops fast at QB, or else they'll waste Peterson like the Detroit Lions wasted Barry Sanders.

    Barry Sanders was hardly "wasted"...wow...

He was the classiest running back ever, only retired becuase he didnt WANT to brake Walter Paytons record..he could have smashed it..

I believe that Argolio is referring to the Lions never even coming close to winning anything while they had Sanders. That is what he meant by "wasting" Sanders.

Do you really believe that B.S.? He only retired because the Lions wouldn't trade or release him. He realized that they were going nowhere fast and wanted out.

Plus he didn't want to be jello in his 40's like so many other ex used and abused NFL players. Look at Robert Smith who was at the top of his game as a rb for the Vikings. Retired with his health and smarts.

Not sure you'd get as much as you think for Pederson who's had two very serious knee operations. He's one side hit to the knee away from retirement.

Not a bad haul at the draft. The Vikings got the DT Floyd at #22 when many believe he was a top ten pick, also I've heard good things about the CB Rhodes that they took at #25. Both were areas that needed to be addressed, and finally at #29 the Vikings took WR Patterson from Tennessee who will be a bit more of a project, but has tremendous upside.

But on gay marriage, the Vikings running back says ''that's not something I believe in.''(recent comments on NFL radio)

    hmmmmm.....

Will Adrian get hammered for his personal beliefs?
