We were penalized for more than 250 yards on Saturday?

Where did you read that? You don't win games if you get that many penalties..even against a horrid team like Hamilton.
I actually saw that in the boxscore too on Canoe sports...just chalk that up to poor inatentive reporting towards the CFL... I don't know the final penalites stats, but thought the Argos were well disciplined.

Mentioned on Rouge Radio
I wonder how much of it was the PI calls in the 4th and Wilbur's illegal kickoffs.
Yes, Wilbur did have his struggles which to me is understandable & there were a couple PI calls..but other than that, not much.
It said we were close to setting a new CFL record. That floors me but the last drive of their didn't help.
1st Quarter
15 Unnecessary Roughness
5 Offisde
37 Illegal Kickoff
2nd Quarter
31 Illegal Kickoff
5 Offside - Kickoff
5 No Yards
3rd Quarter
15 Facemask
11 Holding
4th
15 Unnessessary Roughness
10 Objectial contact
15 Unnessessary Roughness
17 Pass Interference
48 Pass Interference
10 Holding
5 offside
One of the 15 yarders was negated by Hamilton also taking a penalty.
The only stupid penalty I remember was the taunting call on Ball. Offside on a kickoff is inexcusable but having a new kicker in makes sense as Wilbur may take more time than Waters.
Dunigan on the broadcast (he was colour guy)
(going from memory so not exact quotes but the drift is the same)
Dunnigan: "Wilbur was shucking drinks a couple days ago and is kicking today"
Kickoff out of bounds ...
Dunnigan: "Looks like he was drinking more than shucking."
The illegal kickoffs are actually only 10 yard penalties. The average kickoff runback is to the 35 yd line, add 10 and the ball is spotted on the 45.
Still too many penalties by the Argos. But that has been the trend this year, just look at the Als vs BC game last Saturday. The Als lost their composure and racked up tons of yardage against. I think the "amped-up" defences this year by all teams has some players prone to over-reacting and taking bad penalties.
I just watched my recording of the game and all 7 Argo penalties in the 4th quarter came in the last 7 minutes and 24 seconds.
There's still a discipline problem on the team which to me was the cause of at least 1/3 of the penalties, however I guess it's something that is difficult to address without using draconian measures. That's just the nature of the game I guess, but it would be nice if the players made an attempt to show restraint because it makes the fans want to pull their hair out when crap like that is called.
Any idea how many yards we gave to penalties last night? Pretty sure it was a high number.
Some of the penalties were a real farce. I mean BC had all the calls going their way.
While Argo dbs got away with some holds early in the game, the final BC TD was partly a function of 3 penalties on 3 consecutive plays, 2 of them borderline at best in my opinion, that gave BC the ball on the one yard line when BC was having trouble in the red zone.
The Argo players are taking it upon themselves to try to fix this penalty problem: http://www.thestar.com/sports/footba...enalty-problem
