I wonder if host gator has a sort of spoiler tag you could put on the text? It's pretty amusing that all of us are being so cryptic.

Anyone watch the first two episodes last week Sunday and Monday? I'm hearing this third one is the best of the bunch. Looking forward to it tonight at 8:00pm.
Speaking of blasts from the past, I recently noticed that the Shout Factory Roku channel has dozens of Mystery Science Theater 3000 episodes, commercial-free. I've been spending a lot of time with Joel and the bots lately...
Some hope for the future of the franchise:
#ICYMI: Welcome back @BryanFuller – named co-creator of new #StarTrek television series https://t.co/yplRK7mib7 pic.twitter.com/J5l2qiqTzU

Still wish Ronald D. Moore and Brannon Braga were involved.
Not a star trek fan whatsoever, but if Fuller is running the show; I'll check it out.
BSG film in the works.

I wasn't a fan of the first* BSG movie and the previous noise about making a new movie amounted to nothing, but I'll keep an eye on this. Thanks.
*Technically the first BSG movie was the brief theatrical release of the original Galactical pilot, but I'll stop over-explaining my joke now...
Last night (at the local film festival) I saw Evolution, an eerie French SF movie about... hmm. I'm not entirely sure what it was about. Maybe the mother-son bond? Or maybe it was just a "simple" story about trying to make a very peculiar life cycle work. Anyway, it reminded me of Under the Skin and especially Upstream Color, but wasn't as good as either. Still quite intriguing, though!
Now we're talking. More hope for the future of the future:

That will likely ruffle a few feathers among the Roddenberry purists. Meyer always presented a bit of a grittier, darker Trek.

From the response online it looks like the Roddenberry purists are in the minority. Most seem to be happy Meyer is onboard. Meyer has already said this series is going in a different direction. I'm definitely curious what direction that will be. I hope it's set in the prime universe and I would like to see it go in a different direction in the sense that it is not just another starship exploring strange new worlds. That's been done now a few times and there are many other aspects of the universe to explore.
Speaking of Roddenberry purists. I didn't see that coming:

Ugh. They hired Gene Roddenberry's incompetent son just for appearances? I'd call that a troubling sign.
