    I wasn't a fan of the first* BSG movie and the previous noise about making a new movie amounted to nothing, but I'll keep an eye on this. Thanks.

    *Technically the first BSG movie was the brief theatrical release of the original Galactical pilot, but I'll stop over-explaining my joke now...

    Last night (at the local film festival) I saw Evolution, an eerie French SF movie about... hmm. I'm not entirely sure what it was about. Maybe the mother-son bond? Or maybe it was just a "simple" story about trying to make a very peculiar life cycle work. Anyway, it reminded me of Under the Skin and especially Upstream Color, but wasn't as good as either. Still quite intriguing, though!

    From the response online it looks like the Roddenberry purists are in the minority. Most seem to be happy Meyer is onboard. Meyer has already said this series is going in a different direction. I'm definitely curious what direction that will be. I hope it's set in the prime universe and I would like to see it go in a different direction in the sense that it is not just another starship exploring strange new worlds. That's been done now a few times and there are many other aspects of the universe to explore.
