I have seen a lot of people online and people within Ottawa over the years who say stuff like Ottawa doesn't deserve a pro football team as they have shown that they can't support one. I would certainly recommend that book to those people especially so that they can understand that it wasn't really the lack of fan support that killed the Rough Riders (and Renegades) in Ottawa but a host of other factors.

I don't doubt the book is good, but there is no denying that the Rough Rider franchise was a train wreck from the early 80s until its demise, both on and off the field. I think that it would be an interesting read because of that.

IIRC some of the Glebeites who were against the reconstruction of Frank Clair used that line. I suspect that many of them couldn't give two 'you know what's' about sports.
