I wonder too, is it the fans that don't want to watch Hamilton and would prefer New York , or is it the media would prefer to report on that.
Many in the Toronto media, like Jim Lang, are seduced by the great food and other treatment that they get in American press boxes.

One of these days, it will be proclaimed that Media Companies owning sports teams and owning the TV station that broadcasts them will be Anti-Competitive.

I wonder what the Competition Bureau has to say about it actually.

Oh Rogers bought The Score, I forgot. That's why with very little notice the Arizona St. vs Colorado game got ditched for a baseball game. CRAP!!!!!!

    That was me back then.

Also. When I could watch almost all Leaf home games and every Jays home game on TV. When the Argos blacked out the games I had no interest to watch them for any of their games.

I knew they were looking to buy but I didn't realize it has gone threw already. They were the last hold out. Now there is no independent sports media left in Toronto.

It's not up to the Competition Bureau to just look into these things at random. It's up to the public/private company's to submit complaints so they are looked into. This is also how many of our laws are created. MP's get input from the voters if it be company or persons to and that influences policy.

Tonights Engraved On A Nation about Chuck Ealey was GREAT! I found it rivetting. I feel very fortunate to be old enough to remember Chuck Ealey and how much fun he was to watch. Those were some very special days in the CFL which were followed up with Moon and Holloway. I LOVED all these guys. I can remember when we had struggles way after Ealey had retired and I'd yell "Bring Back Chuck Ealey." I'd always get great laughs. Unlike that first Prider one this should make every Canadian and CFL fan proud. Funny how back in my highschool days we only had two or three black students in my school just because the area still hadn't had many. Yet they were accepted just like Ealey, Moon and Holloway. I never saw them as black qb's from the south. To me they were just great qb's with so much talent and so much fun to watch. Then you watch these stories just like the one they recently had on Holloway and the issues they had in their own country it boggles your mind. That really isn't too far back in history. Stories like this make me proud to be Canadian and a fan of our league. I think next weeks will bring the same fellings on with Calvillo. I met a brother of his at Grey Cup one year as he was staying in our hotel. This guy was such a cool down to earth nice guy.

The Anthony Calvillo doc last night was quite compelling. Did anyone see it? The only odd thing about it was that they omitted his time with the Las Vegas Posse as though it never existed. I know that many Canadians would like to forget about those U.S. expansion days but totally ignoring them in this case might have gone a bit far.

Ravi I totally wondered why they would forget that piece of history. He was 18 years old I believe starting out with Vegas.
I remember talking with one of his brothers at my Grey Cup hotel one year and I kept thinking it wasn't the older brother who was in jail. When I fianlly saw his other brother I realized that it was indeed him. It brought tears to my eyes I must say. I've always liked Calvillo and he's all CLASS. Very well done. He's not the only CFLer or CFL star to come from real bad areas to do well. Mookie Mitchell grew up in Liberty City area of Miami. This place is HELL. It's been on The First 48 a number of times. For those that don't know, my favorite show is on A&E on Thursdays and it's real homicide detectives attemping to solve real murders. Great, very heavy show. I love it!

Finally saw the Chuck Ealey doc. liked it alot, but these docs are just too short to tell the stories they are trying to convey. The 1st half hour was compelling and really brought you right into it with anticipation, then it just seemed rushed the last 15 minutes. Which especially sucks because it was Chucks CFL days that seemed completely skimmed over even for me someone who hates the Pussycats. lol . 43 minutes without commercials is just is not long enough and i expect a few of these docs to disappoint in the same way. Have not seen the Calvillo doc yet but i expect it will be simular. Hopefully the 71 Argos one is better as its not a "life story" type doc and hopefully all the interesting facets of the 71 season can be covered in 43 minutes.

Theres no way he was 18. He started at a Community College and then transferred to Utah State. According to Wikipedia he was 22 in Vegas.

Canada is multicultural ( as enshrined in the constitution ) in regards to immigration .

The comment about further Canada being much further ahead then the USA in terms of " melting pot " is inaccurate .

Holy crap so big deal I'm not an immigration lawyer. So we're multicultural. I'll take life in Canada over the US any day along with how we live along side our newest Canadians.

Yah I remember hearing Calvillo being 18 way back when but that does indeed make no sense. Holy Crap my last two posts just got hammered down. haha.
