    Argo Fans Meet Up

Well the CFL withdrawal has already kicked in and there is a long offseason ahead of us. So, I would like to try to get together a few Argo Fans Meet Ups again. I know December is a busy month for many so I'm thinking mid January early February would be a good target for the first one. I also want to accommodate the most people possible so please take a moment to answer the poll as to which area of the city works best for you. The area with the most votes will be the area where we schedule the Meet Up. Thank you everyone and happy holidays!

North end, but coming downtown isn't a problem.

Driving from Owen Sound, and always park at Kipling subway. So, wherever is handy to the subway.

West end is good and that's what I posted but downtown is almost as easy ...... Either driving in or I park at either Kipling or Yorkdale subway stops.

Thanks T-Bone - I voted for north, but it really doesn't matter to me, although downtown is least favored. I only voted since there is a chance I could attend - we will be in 'Old Muddy' the last week of Jan and the first week of Feb, staying at the old homestead north of Whitby.

Ok, we need to settle on a date for this event. I'm proposing:

    Friday Feb 1
    Saturday Feb 9
    or
    Sunday Feb 10

Please indicate which date works best for you or if all of the above are possible. Also as the poll above is going right now I'm leaning towards the Brazen Head as the location of the event.

    Cool

I could seriously go for this, but having a "varied" work schedule, I will make no promises.

But here are a few thoughts, anyway :

While many folks are commuting in, some will drive in; and as with any great party, it really should go on until at least 5am, and then be continued the next day....

Perhaps a cool motel where they won't mind you BBQing on the property, as long as the music and loud conversation gets chilled after 11pm. Or even better, maybe some Argofan has a house/property with a backyard/acreage, where people can pitch a tent. Trust me, I've done it in Jan/Feb before; windproof tent, fluffy sleeping bag, booze... it works. Didn't Angelo V say he had a Grey Cup Party at his place?

3 beer minimum/4 beer maximum, the next day, if you have to drive away, later that same day.

    Cheers !

    Cool

Alternately, for those afraid of a spot of cold, the party could go on upstairs, while downstairs in the basement rec (wreck) room, people can line up in formation in their sleeping bags (a line of tape would bi-sect the room), according to their favourite players on Offense or Defense (no tackling anyone allowed, unless they're directly beside you, to gain a better position).

Yes, I have experience with parties.

    Cheers !

The 1st is not GREAT for me. I have to drive to Lindsey after work and then to Markham. For this reason I would prefer north or east. But let me know what you decide.

I'm not sure when my flight gets back. I'll check

Surely, as The Administrator, on this Great Argofans Forum, you deserve your your own pilot and aeroplane.

I'll give Senator Braley a call, to see if you can maybe use Prime Minister Harper's Black Helicopter, when He's not using it.... We'll try to get get you a CF-18, once the F-35's are in.

    Membership, has its privileges !

What's wrong with west - as in West Coast Argos. Maybe we could get Senator Braley to point to Harper that he has connections on the west coast who would need a CF-18 or even a F-35 in the future for a limousine ride to his eastern bailiwick. Or better yet, maybe the West Coast Argos could have a meeting of their own. We might even fit in a telephone booth and set a Guinness sanctioned world-record for most beers drunk in a telephone booth by fans of a football team.
