    Adrian McPherson heads south

While I am not sold on McPherson as being a starting-calibre CFL QB, I am still surprised that a team such as Winnipeg would not sign him. I would not be surprised to see him resurface in the CFL in Ottawa next year.

I don't understand this move... at all. Sign with Hamilton and make (guessing here) 60K-70K a year and stay in the CFL, or go south and play in a different league for $800 a week? Huh?

I know money isn't everything in life but trading a possibility of making $3500 a week for $800 a week makes little sense.

Well he wants to play and play more than doing a sneak every now and then. Plus he came from the AFL and was a name down there. Nice to see a player actually prove he's in it for more than money.

All it takes is one injury and he may be the next Micheal Bishop who just keeps getting phone calls.

Right. But if he's already in Hamilton and Burris gets injured, he's already playing.

Plus, I'm not sure he would be allowed out of that contract until their season is over. Very odd decision. If he gets injured, his potential CFL career could be done.

The championship is at the end of Aug. He could very well play in both leagues if there is any interest after that with season ending injuries and so on (Tate or Pierce).

Yes, if the injury happens in September or later. By signing down there, he is likely out of the league for this year, and definitely out for the first 8 games, as opposed to being a back-up in Hamilton the entire year.

MacPherson is IMO a weak QB talent who got to hang around on a CFL roster behind a great vet QB; showed little when he got to play for the Als other than a bit of running abilty; the Als are better off with Porter ( or maybe even Quinlan?) behind Calvillo and the Ticats are better off with LeFevour as a back-up; not surprising the Bombers - of questionable QB depth - weren't interested in this guy either. Still won't be surprised to see some desperate CFL team give this guy another call in the future though.
