    2013 CFL draft

As most of you know, the draft is getting very close. I had intended to ask interested parties to tweet their choices in real-time while the Argos are on the clock for the 8th, 17th, etc. selections so that we could eventually determine whether any of us would make better selections than Barker and friends.

Unfortunately, I'm flying to DC Monday morning and will miss most of it even if I pay for in-flight internet (which I probably won't).

However, I encourage anyone interested to post their choices! Just tweet your selection with the hashtag #argofansdraft when it is Toronto's turn to pick, and your cleverness will be preserved for future admiration.

I am excited for tomorrow. For the Canadian draft it's the beginning of the season after a long famine. It's like a mini-camp in which the Argos pick certain players and not others to take to training camp. Since I can't watch the earlier mini-camps, they don't give me the same feeling, even though I know they are important in building the roster. As we saw last year, without the selections made at the mini-camps, there would have been no Argo Grey Cup.

Does anyone know why the draft is held so close to the opening of training camp? Wouldn't it be better to hold it in January or February?

A few years ago they changed the schedule to make sure it was after the NFL draft, so CFL teams would have a better idea who would be realistically available. The downside is limited time to sign guys before camp, but I think the change was a good idea.

Just surfing before I go to work

According to the Sratching post Barker has backed off going for the first pick.... Ticats probably wanted Ray .

So there may not be any exciting trades to get Gaydosh.
The Bomobers are still trying to switch up. ( a mistake in spelling ... But it's rather funny)

On listening and reading a few articles here and there.... They all say , "seeing there is no obvious # 1 ..." WT? .... All mock drafts that I have seen put Gaydosh as first pick ... So where is the uncertainty? Especially since a handful are trying the $ run to the NFL.

i have a feeling that we'll grab one of the boys who were top picks but have committed to NFL teams... apparently our management doesn't mind waiting. and Jim Barker is on record (for a few years) as saying that his main criteria is whether or not the kid will be able to beat someone on the roster for a spot someday.

likely the only "easy" selection today.

the bright-lights on the Bomber forum think that the offer of swapping #2 + Johnny Aprile should have been enough to swap with the Tabbies... smh

The Bombers fans will continue to play the waiting game for the Grey Cup. I wonder if they can threaten our 31 year record. Anyway, interesting selection by Winnipeg which could work out well for them if Mulumba does show up. I expect Montreal to select players in this first round who have already been signed in the NFL as they, unlike us, seem to have much better luck with that route.
Cameron Dukes + Dan Adeboboye + Kevin Mital + David Ungerer + Damonte Coxie + DaVaris Daniels + Dejon Brissett = Unstoppable Force

Worth asking how he ended up in Calgary instead of one of the Ontario schools.

some interesting picks teams going off-board likely due to the "blue chippers" that signed NFL deals.

the Argos may get a good prospect to drop to the 8 spot.

Great logic Mack. Creehan likes him therefore he must be a great pick.
