Blah, Sometimes you have to inject some fun. I suggest renaming this thread to Montreal Song Birds vs. Toronto Boat Rowers Game Thread

If T-Bone wishes to name the thread Montreal Song Birds vs. Toronto Boat Rowers Game Thread then he (and he alone) is permitted to do that.

whats our roster have to be pared down to prior to this game?

do we think Reggie Williams will still be around - sounds like a bad drop in the 4th quarter last night.

I say give Ricky, Kack, etc. a series or 2 and then let the Harris - Collaros - Portis - Gale competition continue (unless we have to axe 1 or 2 prior obviously)

Not a fan of the dry aspect to the game but it is what it is - also not in a rush to get there earlier than 6:30 - even the worst seat in the house there will still be just fine IMO. Plus a few pre-game pops never hurt (especially in the 2009 - 2011 era) - not as much of a necessity now thankfully

I don't know how many receivers the Argos will cut before the game next Thursday. If we are looking at their pre-season game stats alone then Adams, Iglesias and Bieler each had better games than Williams who yes dropped a touchdown.

'Funny' is subjective. It's an Internet fourm. Not an offical board meeting.

I'd say so, it's his thread and as long as the name doesn't violate any regulations...

Fear not. That was a special event to "celebrate" the announcement of the Ottawa franchise's new name.

any other interesting position battles from those who followed more closely? most of the talk is about the QB position but what about even O-Line, secondary, etc.??

From what i've read sounds like winnipeg had mighty trouble moving the ball through the air which is great to hear. them putting up only 6 points says a lot too....

Didn't know threads have ownership rights... however, I will be on the lookout for such acts of blatant disrespect in the future.

Hogan and Annunziata seemed impressed with Jamie Robinson and Antareis Bryan in the secondary. Annunziata also said that he was happy with Reinders' play.

nice to hear about some guys in the defensive backfield stepping it up. they're likely to get more of an acid test against Calvillo next week, it will be interesting to see how they do then.

pleased to hear positive reports about Reinders' progress as well. that guy is a landmass.

If the Als do what they have done in previous years, Calvillo likely won't get much more than a couple of series next week. Milanovich, I believe, has that same plan for Ricky Ray. It is possible though, with the new coaching staff and some changes to the playbook that Calvillo could play as much as a quarter though which would be a better test for our secondary. It will be interesting to see what they do.
Chad Kelly + Dan Adeboboye + David Ungerer + Damonte Coxie + DaVaris Daniels + Dejon Brissett = Unstoppable Force

The longest we see Calvillo is a quarter. The Als (at least under Trestman) were very consistent with this – typically they would get the same results that we got last night in Winnipeg against us (ie. their backups drubbing our starters) – however times are a changing……

since we hit Pierce 3 times (one being a horse collar that went uncalled, pic below) in the brief time that he was in the game, i doubt that Montreal will leave Calvillo out there for us to smack around.

No chance of that. Pre-season stats are way overrated.
