I think we will see strong offensive games in at least the first half of the season. In the East, all four teams have a defence that is being rebuilt, restocked, reworked..... So it will be a few games before any of these defence will be strong and steady.
In the west, there have been many changes in personnel on the defence on all the teams maybe not to the same extent as the East but that may just be my perception as I follow the East in more detail.
This year the offence on the East teams is generally growing and have a stable unit of players that have returned as starters, so they should be ahead of the defence. Now later in the season...... That will be a different story later in the season as the defensive units gel, and improve. ..... I think it is similar in the west except for the poor Eskies. ... Hope Reilly is learning similar to Lulay did when he took over the offence....... Except for the cup part.
Edmonton's defense looked pretty awful yesterday, but some of the turnovers committed by the offense didn't help them either. I mean that pick-six at the end of the half should never have been thrown.
