We get the 2013 season underway with a visit from our rivals down the QEW...er...401 as the Guelph Tiger-Cats come to town. The Argos will raise their 2012 Grey Cup banner to the rafters and then will get down to business. The Tiger-Cats had an explosive offense, but finished 6-12 a year ago due to a defense that was among the worst in league history. With a few additions in the off-season they hope to finally get over that hump. Chris Williams, the Ticats superstar WR is holding out on the team this season and we will see how that impacts Henry Burris this year. The Argos will seek to prove that their playoff run wasn't a matter of getting hot at the right time and that they are better than a 9-9 team. The Argos also have several losses in their secondary to overcome.

attention will be focused in on both defences:

Toronto's because of the player turnover. can Chris Jones pull another rabbit out of his hat?

Hamilton's because it was the worst in the league last season and the main (only) reason that the Cats couldn't put any win streaks together. will Steinauer's regime tighten the tabbie's defence?

of course, defence's usually start the season "ahead" of the offences... so we may not see an accurate measure as they'll be against offences fresh out of camp who haven't found their strides yet.

I think both teams are very similar heading into this season, veteran QB's, very good receivers, high scoring offences and rebuilt defences. In my mind flip a coin on this one, could be extremely high scoring and decided by special teams!

I am expecting a high-scoring game on Friday night like what we got for the season finale last year.

Bought my tickets a few weeks back. Hopefully I don't miss the banner/ring ceremony. I'll be sure to tape it in case I'm late.

Mike Hogan has stated that if you wish to witness the raising of the banner, be in your seats by 6:40...

the attendance wont be very good for this game nobody ever realizes the cfl season has started in Toronto for a few weeks after. The argos don't get enough season opener press.

I don't like it when we say for Hamilton or Saskatchewan that it should be a good crowd. The reason is that the uptick in the crowd is usually because of away fans.
