Partly a result of Inman being out. His replacement Trent Guy was rarely ever targeted - same w Barnes. Durie typically gets shorter passes / check downs so you're left w peppering CO2. Sustainability of this is debatable but it did work at times....
Durie did have a bad game in week two, but was fine in week one so I think it's too early to be making evaluations on any decline on his part.
TORONTO ARGONAUTS FOOTBALL CLUB
GREY CUP CHAMPIONS: 1914, 1921, 1933, 1937, 1938, 1945, 1946, 1947, 1950, 1952, 1983, 1991, 1996, 1997, 2004, 2012, 2017, 2022
Durie did catch 6 passes for 37 yards in the Lions game. The low yardage total may be more a function of the fact that the Lions were able to generate major pressure on Ray with only three or four rushers so that Ray was dumping the ball off to Durie quickly in situations where he was well covered by the 8 or 9 other Lions hanging back. Without at least decent OL blocking, even Ray is very limited in what he can do, let alone Durie.
Precisely. As I said earlier in this thread, If the O-line can't protect against a 3 or 4 man rush (and they weren't on this night) it is virtually impossible to make plays down field with 5 receivers going up against 8 or 9 defenders. The Lions did not need to send any LB's or DB's on the rush.
It's us vs the rest of the country
It's pretty much the Argos MO when they come and attempted to play at BC Place. They almost won last year but mostly the play like crap here.
