Hamilton cuts three: Should we have any interest?

The Ticats have released linebacker Markeith Knowlton, free safety James Patrick, and defensive back Terrance Parks today. Should we have interest in any of them? I really don't know enough about Parks and I think that Patrick's best days may be behind him. AngeloV was quite critical of Patrick's play recently and his assessment seems to be accurate. Could Knowlton fit into the Chris Jones defence at all?

I'd be all over Knowlton. He's a great player. Can't help but wonder if some of these releases are combination team performance and salary cap related.

No interest in Patrick. I've seen long runs against the Cats this year where he's appeared to have an angle and the back still out runs him (not to mention LB's and other DB's passing him on the chase. He's either lost a step, or he was just very overrated to begin with..part of the big Green hype machine.

Honestly haven't seen enough of Parks to judge him.

Knowlton is starting to bounce around from team to team a little too much for my liking. I think if a coach sees talent, he'd try to keep it, regardless of a cap. Parks looked good in the games I've seen him in. Although he made a few questionable judgements...penalty wise. But he's only 23. I'd take him.6' 2...good height.

Knowlton's next team will be his third IIRC which will be the same for Brandon Isaac. I would be very surprised not to see Isaac end up in Hamilton. If Knowlton ends up in Toronto, it will almost be like a trade.

I would too. I like Issaac, but Knowlton is really good, and IMO better at run support too.

Since I just found out about Issaac, I'd grab Knowlton. This league is crazy.

Knowlton like Issac was a shock cut. It seems every year the Coaches like to single out a vet who is not quite performing up to their standards and send a message to the rest of the team by cutting them loose. Come playoff time these guys are worth keeping though IMO. Just shows that there are so many good American players out on the street who will play cheaper. Coaches can't do this with most of the Canadian starters as they can't replace them very easily.

Stay away from anybody in the Cats secondary...I would not have picked anybody who played in the Cats secondary for the last 7 years for a touch football team. McCullough is by far the best guy in the Cats secondary today.

Except Knowlton is a LB and not a DB.
