They could have just promoted Milanovich who would be running that team, instead of the Argos, with Brady and Jones.
We finished first in our division. hard to do better. Oh sure we lost the east final in the final minute but at least our HC finally graduated to the nfl. Small price to pay. Now we await you with open arms in 2 weeks. Something about unfinished business.

I noticed during last nights game in Montreal, an Al assistant coach who could be seen standing near Mike Miller had no hands. I assume he is a Hawkins hire from last off season. I am interested in his story, I would think it would be one of inspiration.

That's RB coach Mark Speckman. Als beat writer Herb Zurkowsky wrote this story about Speckman.

I think it was TSN had a program on his story as well. Very interesting.

Branden Isaac (#23) is indeed listed as Hamilton's starting SAM LB for today's game against the Riders. Good luck to him!

Ticats catch a big break with Darian Durant unable to play today. I have not been impressed with Drew Willy on the few occasions I have seen him play.

Isaac did do a nice job of "lurking in the weeds" to get a sack in the first quarter.

Well, Willy has impressed me so far tonight. Isaac started off well with Hamilton with a sack but seemed to pull a muscle and is likely out for the rest of this game at least. That Hamilton defence continues to struggle mightily.

Riders punt coverage looks pretty sound, we should take a page out of their book!

Austin coming across as a bit of a moron in thinking he could just load up with a bunch of rookie imports to field a good defence (hmmm - that thinking not CFL unique i guess ?) - the results are laughable so far and looks good on Kent; Ticat D continues to be a huge problem: weak D-line with no real pass rush forces and a very iffy, inexperienced D-backfield (Stephen looking pretty decent as a rookie safety though); Issac for Knowlton is a bit of a wash, and Jamal Johnson is not a real MLB (they could give Plesius - a big, athletic MLB a shot there but he has the wrong birth certificate - and move Johnson back to OLB where he belongs). Steinauer not showing much smarts as a DC either IMO.

And the all-pass offence with pretty well zero ground game and an iffy O-line is going to be hit & miss IMO; Burris having a great game with Fantuz playing might work well the odd game though i guess.

For all those critics that state CFL qbs have never been worse, please watch injury fill ins Mitchell and Willy. I expect a similar performance Tuesday night if Collaris gets the nod. I did not mention Goltz since I don't believe Buck is injured.

Mitchell was quite impressive IMO and i'm going to guess now that the Stamps will protect him as their QB in the expansion draft; Goltz has looked OK to mediocre; Willy doing OK in a league best offence; Reilly looking pretty good on a dumb Esks team; we shall see about either Collaros or Harris; the Als are in big trouble when dinosaur Calvillo is put out to pasture (Quinlan choosing not to "try-out" there but a Div. III QB in Golttz getting to start in the CFL speaks volumes on that subject IMO).

The new Ottawa team MAY get a pretty decent QB to start off (Tate or LeFevour or Collaros or Harris perhaps?); Ottawa might get local guy Sinopoli as a receiver ( very impressive there so far IMO - guy can catch and is a load to bring down) and maybe have him around as a QB option?

    Agreed, Ravi.

We don't have a Kory Sheets to take hand offs and BC is a much more challenging opponent than Hamilton. For Collaros to keep the "rookie QB success streak" intact, he'll need to be *really* impressive.

so much for that big break. although the game was closer. The stink of the ticats meshes well with that from the OVC and agricultural school in Guelph.

Not meaining to nit-pick - but none of Mitchell, Willy, Goltz, Reilly or Harris/Collaros are true "rookie" QBs - all have CFL roster and playing experience before this season.

That is one of the reasons I used quotation marks, OV.
