The Blue Bombers are starting Max Hall at quarterback against the Tiger-Cats. I don't think that Guelph will have much trouble with Winnipeg, however I think everyone predicted an easy victory for the 'Cats over Joey Elliott last year around this time and we all saw what happened. Andy Fantuz returns to the lineup for the Tiger-Cats giving their receiving corps a boost.

I think Calgary will defeat British Columbia. It is true that the Lions are a much better team at home than they are on the road, but I think that the Stamps are simply playing great football right now and home-field advantage will be neutralized.

I'd like Montreal to defeat Saskatchewan (it isn't usual that I say that), but I don't really see it happening.

and with another win in guelph the tabbies will hit .500. they've suddenly become contenders in the east again. looks like austin's team is starting to come together nicely.

Of course, assuming that they win next week, three out of their four wins will be against Winnipeg. While I think that they are starting to come together, they need to beat some other teams before we can know for sure that they are.

I accept the fact that people don't like Rod Black, but do we have to hear about it evey time he broadcasts a game. I think it's pretty much a given now.

He has lost something and I don't think it can all be blamed on Hawkins. I'm still not prepared to count Montreal out however.

A defensive battle with it being 8-7 for the Roughriders at halftime. Of note, Anthony Calvillo, Brandon London and Josh Bourke have all been injured for the Alouettes.

You almost have to feel sorry for the Als as their players are dropping like flies. While you hate to see Calvillo leave the game - with what might be a concussion - I wonder if this isn't perhaps a bit of a blessing in disguise for Montreal in the sense that they need to see what their young QBs can do now as AC is unlikely to be back next year.

The one area of Montreal's game which I think is actually better this year is their defence and they are keeping them in this game. Tyrone Brackenridge should be fined heavily, if not suspended, for that helmet to helmet hit on Brandon London IMO. That is the kind of hit that must be taken out of the game and I am surprised that Forde and Black did not speak out against that hit. Yeah, I know it is the popular Riders but they can be criticized.

You also got to feel a little bit for Rob Bagg. The guy can't seem to catch a break injury-wise.
