I don't think the word "cursed" is the correct one, but at 12:30 in the morning I can't think of another to describe it. They've lost their last three games by a total of 9 points not unlike the 1981 Argonauts. Is the comparison appropriate?

I have been thinking lately that the Blue Bombers remind me more of the '81 Argos in how dysfunctional an organization that they are. It really needs to be blown up and they need to find their own Ralph Sazio in Winnipeg.
While the Esks only ended up losing by three points tonight, the game wasn't quite that close. I will say that I have seen more teams fall apart over the years after close losses than ones that have been able to get over the hump.
Cameron Dukes + Dan Adeboboye + Kevin Mital + David Ungerer + Damonte Coxie + DaVaris Daniels + Dejon Brissett = Unstoppable Force
I hadn't thought of that, but I agree with you about Winnipeg. Also, it remains to be seen whether the Eskimos can learn from these close games and put a few wins together or whether the bottom will fall out like the 81 Argos.

BC started out 1-6 two years ago and won the Grey Cup. Who knows?

I think the comparison to Argos in the early part of the 1981 season is pretty valid. A team with a lot of talent that just seems to shoot itself in the foot at inopportune times.
EDM's defense is horrible, particularly the secondary. That isnt a curse, it's bad management so as much as Tillman haters can blame the trade bad defense is killing them more than QBing and that falls on Hervey.

Winnipeg reminds me more of the Argonauts of the late 70's, piss poor management decisions and even worse coaching.
Actually quite a shame for Winnipeg as the organization has destroyed any "buzz" generated from the new stadium.
I thought the 95 Argo team led by Mike Faragelli is a good comparison to this edition of the Eskimos....lots of close games early in the season....we all know how 95 played out.
