    What does Chad Owens wear under his helmet?

    Anyone know what that skull cap thing is that Owens wears under his helmet? It's unusual looking, and I'm assuming it's some kind of therapeutic/magnetic etc type of thing. Anybody seen it up close?

    I was wondering about that for some time now, looks like those pins you put on your shirt when you want to support a political party, only that he has lots of them in there.

    My guess is a protective skull cap to lessen the impact of head shots and reduce concussions.

    Its called a noggin and its meant to reduce impact to the head. Can be found if you google noggin sport.

    i believe that they're sensors. they can assess the impact of headshots taken.

    i say/guess this because i saw a news piece about a year ago on concussions and one study was using skullcaps with discs that looked very much like the ones under Chad's hat.

    I saw what looked like that exact skullcap (at Litzen's in Dundas) and it sold for something like $20. I don't think they are sensors -- I think it is just a form of enhanced padding.
