    Worst coach in cfl

Who is the worst coach in the cfl right now kavis reed or Tim Burke?

I think both of these guys are really bad at coaching but if had to chose one it probealy would be Tim Burke! Never seen a football team play so bad as winnipeg with all the penalties and miscommunication with the players and coaching staff. Kavis and Burke make Bart andrus look like a genius!

I would go with Tim Burke. Kavis did a good job last year in a year of turmoil after the Horrible trade Tillman made giving the Argos Ricky Ray. Burke to me, just looks lost as a head coach. In fact, he seemed intimidated by Gary Crowton, when Crowton was the o coordinator. A good coach has a very clear chain of command, and I don't see it from Burke.

After watching SJ Green throw that pic yesterday, can Jim Popp be included? I would have shuddered had the Als swept the Argos yesterday under his guidance.

I'm not sure why Jim Popp would be mentioned on this topic. There was nothing wrong with the trick play call yesterday; Green should have realized that it wasn't a Hail Mary scenario and that if he couldn't step into his throw he had to eat the ball.

Sorry Wobbler, horrible call no matter how you look at it.

Its been a tossup between Kavis and Burke for me with the vote usually goes to the one I have seen most recently. With the Bomber-Eskimo game, I've switched to Kavis and I think it is now going to be hard to change my vote, not because Edmonton lost, but because Kavis collapsed to the ground near the end of the game when a play went horribly wrong for the Eskimos. IMO, a coach simply cannot show this kind of emotional collapse to his entire team - he has to show resiliency in the face of adversity if he expects his players to do the same. Burke often looks forlorn out there but he never goes as far as Kavis.

Kavis swept Burke so it has to be Burke for me.

Wobbler, after watching Tim Burke pull Max Hall at halftime after he just threw a TD pass in favour of Jason Boltus, I agree that Burke is the 8th best HC in the CFL. I owe you an apology.

I probably wouldn't hire Tim Burke to be my head coach but the talent disparity between the Bombers and the rest of the league is quite striking. I have been pondering tonight whether these 2013 Bombers are as bad or worse than the '09 Argos under Bart Andrus. I think that these two teams are pretty close but the major issue with the '09 Argos was with the coaching whereas the major problem with the Bombers IMO is with the talent although the coaching isn't the greatest either.

I would hire Burke as my DC in a heartbeat however.....yes, the talent on the Bombers is suspect at best.

I only watched bits and pieces of the Winnipeg game but I was also astonished by the QB pull at half time. Hall was energized and had had two good drives. Sure a full comeback was unlikely, but give the guy another quarter. It's not as if you're going to lack for chances to try out your second and third string in a 2-10 season. The coaching call seemed like one you'd make in a preseason game.

The QB moves in Winnipeg have been a joke. When they announced Justin Goltz to be the starter the rest of the season (whether it was right or wrong), they should have stuck to their guns. Now the team has no idea who is going to lead them on a weekly basis, and that makes it tough. That is 100% on the head coach.

Ha! No you don't. But it must be very hard to be a Bomber fan right now. Aside from a nice new stadium and some individual standout players (I'd love to have Henoc Muamba and Alex Hall), they have nothing to celebrate and not much to look forward to other than the 2014 draft. Burke has made some poor decisions, but I can understand why he seems desperate.

I think you mean Burke looks despondant....yes, it looks bleak in Winnipeg, gonna miss them in the East.
