I know nothing about Woodson. Is he a potential replacement for JJ? Since we paid more (giving up a 3rd rounder for a 5th) I would normally assume that we initiated this deal, but maybe Winnipeg was hunting for OL depth and this is just how it worked out.
No idea who both of them are, oh well...
Good trade for the Argos. Now we have a young Canadian rb on the roster in Woodson, but I suspect Joel Reinders will replace Parenteau in the lineup. I want to see that big man in uniform.
I look at Woodson as being a possible replacement for JJ down the line as JJ can't play forever. We have needed some additional non-import depth at RB IMO and Woodson should provide that. Parenteau had really become a spare part for us but should be able to start for the Bombers. We still have three backup Canadian offensive linemen in Wayne Smith, Andrew Jones and Joel Reinders with Tyler Holmes in the pipeline so I can see why Parenteau was expendable.
Cameron Dukes + Dan Adeboboye + Kevin Mital + David Ungerer + Damonte Coxie + DaVaris Daniels + Dejon Brissett = Unstoppable Force
Woodson was a solid rb with the Dino's. I like it.
Here are Woodson's Calgary Dinos' and Winnipeg bios. His 1,183 yard rushing 2007 season was in his second season with Calgary (second in Canada West that year and second in team history). Injuries limited his play in his subsequent three seasons with the team. With Winnipeg, he has had extremely limited action on the field rushing for 3 yards on 2 carries last year and 2 yards on 1 carry this year, with only 1 reception for -3 yards and a total of 5 special team tackles, as well as 1 kick return of 25 yards. In other words, early success was marred by injuries. So the central question is did the injuries greatly reduce his early potential to be successful in the CFL or did Winnipeg simply not give him a chance, as often happens with Canadian RBs? IMO, he was worth taking a risk on as Jeff Johnson must be nearing the end at 36 and we gave up a 32 year old lineman, a position where we have several other options, for a 25 year old RB with some ST experience, when we have little else behind Johnson on the Canadian side.

Woodson has some potential i guess - great CIS rushing season and some size at 215; and the Argos have need at RB (period - regardless of birth certificate); be nice to see him given a few chances given the Argos' uncertainty at RB until Kackert comes back (but doubtful for a CIS RB); we shall see - might be just a depth RB and hasn't proven much as a CFL STer.
Clearly a move made due to the return of Waters in the kicking game this week. They will need to drop a back up import to add the kicker and my guess is that Woodson will replace either Quinn Porter or Jerious Norwood in the lineup.
It's us vs the rest of the country
