There is some level of MLSE employee involvment on the ticket side. I received a call the other day for my season tickets and the guy on the phone said he worked for MLSE. Have no idea how it is set up but they are sharing resources.
CFL alive and well all others can go to Hell!

The Rock sell tickets from their facility in Oakville and MLSE sells them at the ACC Ticketmaster. The Rock have their own ticket sales department, unless things have changed for this upcoming season.

I get so tired and frustrated by tv/radio/newspaper/bloggers going on about the CFL’s declining tv ratings, especially in Ontario.
Yet they don’t want to explain this!

    From last week:
    15. NBA, Bucks at Raptors, Friday, TSN: 218,000
    16. NBA, Sixers at Raptors, Sunday, TSN: 181,000

Sixers are not even a true nba team as they are the most embarrassing sports franchise in North America bucks had lost 9 games in a row coming into raps game. Considering raps play 84 games during season and the Argos play 18 I would be extremely happy to hear if the Argos got those numbers in Toronto.

Those Raptors ratings are for Canada, not just Toronto.

IIRC in 2012 (or'13) the Argonauts were averaging over 250k in the Toronto Extended market (Golden Horseshoe basically) and between 1.4 -2.1 in household share. Usually one of the top 3 programs of the night when they played, which was pretty impressive IMO.

Did anyone notice and good on Rogers for the shrinking ratings for the Leafs and HNIC.
Reaffirming the changing landscape in sports TV viewership.
Also, I really like the $3B+ overspending on the contract with their financial bath continuing.

Maybe leaf fans are finally waking up and realizing how much the leafs suck?

Again Rogers is getting $1.5 Billion back from TVA for the french TV rights:

"TVA Group Inc., will pay Rogers more than $120-million a year to become the official French-language broadcaster of the NHL in a 12-year deal valued at about $1.5-billion, The Globe and Mail has learned."

I know we all get frustrated with the Toronto media and the lack of CFL coverage. Or negative coverage when they do cover something.
Well Bruce Arthur just wrote about the Raptors great season AND how no one seems to care!

Sad thing is once the playoffs start, all the bandwagon fans will be out.

They discussed it during the round table discussion on the Naylor and Landsberg show this morning. I think sports viewership in general is down across Canada. A lot of people have rid themselves of cable subscriptions and stream everything now.
It's us vs the rest of the country

I totally agree about sports tv viewership as a whole is on the decline. But it's more than that.
The Raptors are one of the Big 3 in Toronto. The amount of money spent on salaries, advertising, merchandising and promotion is huge, so I think they expect better tv numbers.

Curling kicks the NBA numbers in Canada!

The small tv numbers tell me:
-Toronto and Canada is not a basketball hotbed.
-The younger generation buy the flat brimmed hats and jerseys but don't watch on TV.
-The younger generation are bandwagon jumpers who will hang out in Maple Leaf square once the playoffs start.

    R. Peddie said that the Raptors would eclipse the Leafs in popularity one day. The Leafs will win the cup before that happens!

NBA and the Craptors are a niche sport here only in the GTA, as the TV numbers in this case do not lie.
They are not Canada's team as basically no one outside the GTA cares.
Yes possibly there may be a few people to get on the bandwagon after CTV and TSN will try to promote the crap out of the playoff schedule.
Just watch it will be pathetic, reminds me of the World Championship Super Bowl hype.

There will be more than a few on the bandwagon, 'tom. If the Raptors go on a big playoff run, they will get big ratings. Torontonians and Canadians love a winner, as evidenced by last fall's Blue Jays ratings. There will be no Canadian teams in the NHL playoffs to compete with for viewers. If Raptors end up in the Eastern Conference final against LeBron James, there will be lots of people watching.

But will that result in a permanent Raptor Ratings increase and a new love of American Basketball in Canada? I doubt it.

TBD. IMO young males in the GTA are increasingly more interested in basketball than hockey -- will they maintain that as they grow up, get married, get jobs, have kids?

Tell me about it AT! The same bandwagoners better not jump on our Argos train when they make an exciting playoff run. Who needs them? Even if semi's are traditionally hard sellers. Or wait, is that OK in your hypocritical, contradicting, twisted world?

Let's not get too cocky. We have yet to see what the CFL's ratings will be in this age of getting rid of cable. Seeing that the CFL is only on TSN, I wouldn't be surprised to see a huge drop in ratings this season. That young, flat brim wearing generation that some adore on here - how many Argonauts games are they going to watch when all us old guys are gone? The CFL could be in real trouble in a few years.

On another note, I am disappointed with your constant attack on Basketball. Are your threatened by the sport? Most of the points you have made are completely false, via bias, and I don't understand why you share them in a CFL forum.
