According to my little db scraped from the results at cfl.ca, in 285 games since 1950, the Ticats hold a slight edge, 6072-6044.

The CFL web site shows one Argo/Ticat game in 2005 as 0-0 so I'm a little suspicious of this data source, I must admit.

    http://www.cfl.ca/schedule/year/2005/time_zone/0
    (note pre-season "B" game)

But, hey, here's some more score trivia for you. (Results for 5,485 games since 1950)

    Low Scoring Games
    Montreal 1, Ottawa 0 (1966)
    Winnipeg 3, BC 1 (1956)

    Highest Scoring Game
    Winnipeg 65, Edmonton 60 (1953)

    Most Common Scores
    27-24 (29 times)
    23-21 (24 times)
    18-17 (24 times)

Some Scores that have Never Happened
    2-0
    3-0
    3-2
    5-4
    7-0
    16-3

All possible total scores between 1 and 100 have happened - including "1" - except for 2, 3, and 98.

Ok, everyone... let's have your predictions!
At this point, I am still picking Hamilton to win: I am just that concerned about the Argos D.

Was that highest scoring game a preseason game? I have never heard of that particular game before and have never seen it listed among the highest scoring games in league history.

I'm taking the over. Looking forward to it. Should be a lot of fun, and hopefully I don't get that headache I had in the '05 and '07 Eastern finals.

According to the CFL Web Site - 1953 playoffs - semi-final
    http://cfl.ca/schedule/year/1953/time_zone/0

    Sat Nov 28, 1953
    Winnipeg 65, Edmonton 60

(Winnipeg was apparently on a tear, winning the previous week over Saskatchewan 60-23.)

But, hmm.... I think there's something wrong with the CFL web site though. Wikipedia has totally different playoff results for that season

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1953_in_Canadian_football

Aha. I think the CFL web site is reporting the totals for playoff series as if they were a single game. Winnipeg played three games against Edmonton (according to Wikipedia), losing the first 25-7, winning the next two 21-17 and 30-24. The CFL site is adding it up all wrong somehow.

Unfortunately, the Argos' home EF record since 1982 isn't anything special. They won in '82. '83, '91, '96, and '97 and lost in '84, '86 (coming into that game with a 14 point lead no less), '88, '05, and '07. We are due for a home EF win this year.

Keeping Mr. Gable, as he has shown far too often including yesterday, under control will be an important factor in determining whether the Argos win.

Hope you are right Ravi, but I suspect we are in for a long tough game on Sunday, the Argo D has struggled with Hamilton's offence during all 3 games this year and I expect more of the same Sunday. Let's hope Chris Jones and his squad finally put together a solid to dominant performance this week, Hamilton will be a confident bunch considering the 2 game sweep a couple of weeks ago.
Hopefully Ray and the offence kicks some ass on Sunday, should be high scoring!!!!

Ray is going to have to keep the defence off the field. This has the makings of a classic game. I say Argos will win in 13 like how they did it in 83.

The good thing, because of all the Hamilton fans, players should feel like it's an away game and win.

Here is a good article about the history of the Argos and Ticats in East Finals: http://www.thespec.com/sports-story/...risingly-rare/

There is a mistake in the result of the 1983 East Final as the Argos won that one 41-36 in one of the finest games ever played. The next year, the Ticats won 14-13 in OT in a very frustrating game for Argos fans.
