So, according to Naylor, BMO Football conversion will most likely have 17 yard endzones. I'm really disappointed in hearing this and while there's still a very small chance that they go full 20's, I'm not holding my breath.
Thats with a 19 foot "safety zone" from the end stands

Im sure they will play around with optimum dimensions whether it be 18yds and 16ft safety zone, or 19yds and 13ft saftety zone, until they settle on set dimension 4 the new stadium.

Also, I'm guessing they will have to move the jumbotron so they can fit in grey cup seats ... if this became permanent they would have even more space.

My issue stems more from there being more than enough room to fit 20 yard endzones, as the league only requires 6 ft clearance.

BTW anyone notice the non Grey Cup seating image of BMO Field when reading Copeland's letter ?

    And all the bell sponsorship

.. according to the mockup one end has a 6yd clearance and the other has a 7yd clearance so roughly 20ft extra space with 17yd endzones

    Interesting.
I thought it was just me with that take on Hamilton fans. They are a nasty bunch imo.
I don't think I will be going back to THF ever again myself, except for a Grey Cup game.

Yup, 39 feet actually and the league only requires 12 ft, 6 in each end. Hence my issue with the set up, there's more than enough room.

Probably don't need players running into the wall and getting injured. Would look bad.

12 and 9 ft clearance in the endzones, if they were to go with 20 yarders. More than enough room and if not, add padded advertising for protection.

We had similar experiences at Ivor Wynne, even at the Rogers Centre with Hamilton fans.

I know they have cut away the first few rows from the south stands to make way for the endzone. Some pictures on twitter.

My little brother was spat on once, we were sitting in the endzone at Ivor Wynne, cheering for the Argos. Hamilton fans have no class, yet they like the Jays, Leafs, Raptors etc. when it suits them.

LMFAO!!! That is a very likely scenario.

I know I've mentioned this before, but I was at a game in the 90's in section 5 where they only had bench seating. Argos were winning, and a Cats fan just out of the blue stomped on an Argo fan's hand as it lay on the bench 1 row in front. It was actually almost funny, because the Cats fan just stood there with such a proud look on his face. That look was priceless, and just seemed to go hand in hand with the average Cats fan back then.

I will never forget the yell that came from the Argo fan that day.
It's us vs the rest of the country

There is already a virtual venue for BMO Field, so you can take a look at what the view would be from every seating area.
    http://torontofc.io-media.com/

I have several spots in mind, but am just waiting to hear what the prices will be. I am willing to spend a little more than I did at Skydome, which was first row in the 200 level.
One major change I will make is to sit in the middle of the section instead of on the aisle. I cannot take having to stand to let people in or out during the game. Why can't people stay in their seats to watch a game? I never move out of my seat until half time. Hamilton is even worse, as the amount of traffic is incredible. You really notice it when people keep passing by your seat in and out and blocking your view as well.

Are you kidding me? I'm aware that we once had 25 yard endzones and that BC place changed that. But all team's fields went to 20. But only 1 team's field at 17 and the rest at 20? Rounded off corners are one thing, but completely shortened endzones are bush. Is this seriously being done, without being proposed BEFOREHAND? Wow, that's just ridiculous. I really hope this is not true. Is so, its bush league.

    I'm going upper 107
    - behind the argos bench
    - high enough under the roof that will not get rained on

only issue is the sun in summer time out of the SW, so might go for 123/124 in the shade

    On Hammer

I've had seasons at THF since it opened and Ivor Wynne since 98. (Though there were more aholes before Young took over) I usually go to games wearing opposition gear and have rarely had any issues and zero issues at THF. Not saying there aren't some bad one's but comments here make it sound like assholes are the norm.

That said. (to paint with the same wide brush) Argo fans can also be buttholes to opposing fans. I experienced that a few years back when I had to attend an Argos game in Ticat colours to pay a bet. The fans around me gave me no trouble (but then they were super cool dudes) but walking around the stadium I had a few "asshole argo fans" giving as bad as any asshole Ticat fan I ever saw at IW or THF.

anyways. My take on the possible thought not confirmed 17 yard endzones are this. better than watching the Halifax Argos play and still much better than the 10 yard endzones they used to have in obe building.

PS: Once again I note that it always takes a CFL fan to use the term Bush. Like I always say ... nobody trashes our game more than CFL fans do.
