Bring your dinner to work and eat it there before you head over to the game or eat it on your way or even outside the stadium. Problem solved. Nothing wrong with a sandwich the odd day. A very very very minor problem that can be easily fixed.

I usually go to the games with my wife, she likes to go out to a restaurant before the game. Happy wife, happy life. :-)
But like I said earlier if all the games are on Saturdays & Sundays it won't be an issue.

I'm sure they will try to put the majority of the games on weekends but the key to any successful relationship is compromise.

The No Names have how many home games?? 25? 30?. It should be a walk in the park for schedule makers compared to dancing around 81 games.

I, for one, welcome the new change. My only concern is my seasons skyrocketing in price. That will be a while though. I take the GO train from the Beach, so its really only one additional stop for me. The walk from the station to the field is 5-7 minutes. There are a few bars nearby in Liberty Village that seem to suit the TFC crowd. We'll make do. I do fully believe that the Province will eventually permit some controlled tailgating as an experiement. It will likely come during the next provincial election (not the upcoming one). There have already been some options tabled. BMO always has the right to refuse entrance to an event, so fans need to self-govern themselves accordingly. We're not the US, and our fans are tamer when it comes to pre-game boozing. It simply doesn't start at 12-18 hours pre-game here.

I also like the hybrid grass idea. If it works at Wembly, it will be hard for TFC fans to argue that one last point they had about sharing the field.

The drawback I haven't seen adressed it that it still looks 100% like a TFC property. I don't see and blue seating, or blue markings in the drawings. Will we feel like tenants in our own home? Time will tell.

The Exhibition Place Board of Governors has approved the expansion of BMO Field. MLSE will now have to finalize their proposal to the city which will take a couple of months. The city will then review the proposal and city council will vote on it.

Good news, hopefully it proceeds quickly through the political process.

For anyone who went to the meeting I'm curious if there were any TFC fans there who were opposed to the plan.

I'm sure there were but I haven't heard about anyone becoming vocal (I wasn't there).

As both a CFL and soccer fan, I've been following this closely and for the most part most soccer fans have been quite reasonable, considering. There are some jerks out there but most of them have no clue of the design and technology that will be involved.

Sure there will be occasional scheduling issues that may affect the pitch but for the most part it should work.

I wasn't there personally. Some second-hand information that I received from T-Bone and Cossack is that the "fringe" element of the Toronto FC fanbase was not in attendance at the meeting.

I have a feeling this is going to go fairly smooth. From the cities perspective there is nothing to lose on this deal.

I was there and no TFC fans vocally expressed opposition. There were approximately 40 people at the meeting and approximately a dozen were TFC fans. I thought rdavies was there because of the pictures he posted. Since he wasn't, I don't know if outside of myself there were any Argo fans at the meeting and I don't know if I even count as an Argo fan. There was a Ti-Cat fan.

Has SkyDome ever really felt like home for the Argos? I am not sure that it can be any worse than it has been for the last 25 years.

TFC plays 17 MLS home games. Up to 2 Canadian Championship Games then if they win out from that, 3+ games in the CONCACAH Champions League, depending if they advance from the Group Stage. They will occasionally play a summer friendly as well.

I read through the massive thread on this site:

    http://www.wakingthered.com/2014/3/5...pansion-images

and I have to say that the vast majority of the TFC fans posting on it are fair and even sympathetic to Argo fans. They understandably don't want their own viewing experience downgraded if the Argos move to BMO, but they appreciate that Argo fans also want and deserve a good stadium experience.
