HOLY FLAMING CRAP!! I FOR ONE AM SICK OF THIS SHITE!!!! I don't care about the soap opera politics I just want MY TORONTO ARGONAUTS to have a stadium.
When will this BS jerk around political mumbo jumbo stop and we the fans get some quality info as to the direction this team is heading. Why doesn't Braley open up his yap and tell us what's going on.
You can't live in the past as it's done, yesterday is done. Who cares what previous owners did or didn't do? We need to look forward and get on something now before we have to head to Hamilton to beg and plead about sharing their stadium three years down the road.
When you're on a bus and it seems to be going the wrong way, who do you ask about the problem? Most would ask the bus driver -- and in this case the bus driver is clearly MLSE. Would it add anything to our comfort level if David Braley told us that he knows no more than we do, or if he told us that the situation is worse than we imagine. The problem here is not David Braley, but the conniving, the politics and the lack of transparency by MLSE. Normal behaviour for them, and many large corporations. They only care about the bottom line !
One oar still in the water !
Braley could say something about anything Argos. Not sure he's ever spoken about the team. Has he even said that they are up for sale?
Your comments about MLSE are another reason I wish some filthy rich Torontonian who grew up going to Argo games with his grandfather stepped up. I can dream.
I have never viewed David Braley as the 'owner' of the Argos, but rather as the source of their bridge funding to go from C & S to a new owner. He is, however, the proud owner of the B C Lions; Braley is a very careful and honourable man - he would never push himself forward as the 'owner' of the Argos; the appearance of conflict of interest is already bad enough, without him being an active and visible owner of two CFL teams. I'm sure that when David Braley bailed out C & S, and then funded the Argos, that he never envisioned being in this position for such a long time. We should all be very thankful for a fantastic fan of the CFL and the Argos financier, David Braley.
All of that aside, it is well past time that a new private owner stepped forward.
One oar still in the water !
Haven't been paying any attention to the election? Who should i vote for that will contribute the most $$$ to BMO Argo retrofit. In believe ticats got $22m from province for THF.
I voted liberal based on forum feedback. I want the move to BMO to happen (with the conveit that all sideline seats are covered/enclosed with 2 massive British style soccer roofs b/c octobers and november suck historically there)
I guess the Argos get 10m city + 10m prov to take out the endzone seats and put in rebuilt retractable endzone seats.
I doubt MLSE or the Argos really believed they would get any money from the Feds. I guess they could try to get more from the province based on what was contributed to THF ... but how much does its actually costs to rebuild the endzone seats.
I voted Liberal because I'd never vote NDP, Green is a toss away vote and Hudak is a moron. I can't believe people thought he won the debate.
Hopefully with a majority they can kick in and get the ball rolling for The Argonauts.
Ya , the majority gov't will kick in tons of cash for the ARGOS ; Ha Ha ha ! They are way to busy throwing cash out the window to worry about a sound investment and the spin-offs associated with that.
As a direct result of the "useful idiots" voting in the GTA , the majority will continue to spend on their astoundingly idiotic Green Energy stance ...simply because it does not affect ANYONE in the GTA .
I actually heard someone lament about the industrial wind turbine : "Whats the big deal anyway , Toronto has a windmill"
I did notice throughout the election how Tim Hudak kept mentioning about watching his Buffalo Bills.
Never mentioned the Cats, Argos or the CFL.
Therefore glad he lost.
Hudak the loser who loves losers. Even if I was a huge PC supporter I would have voted for someone else because of that TOOL!
It looks like the amendments MLSE asked for were approved: Revised Project Phasing for Renovation and Expansion of BMO Field
Argonauts front office confirmed on the the radio broadcast everything that has been made public and leaked on this site:
- Late August/Early September that move to downsview for practices at the football turf field by the kia soccer centre.
- probably 2017 season for BMO after the roof has been put on and all expansion construction has finished
Argos Season Ticket Holder: 2010 - 2014 & 2016 - Present
