I'm asking, I don't know, how well do they run the Marlies?
It seems like MLSE treats the Marlies just fine. I think that, if anything, TFC fans might have to be more worried about their team being treated as second-class citizens if the Argos come on board as the Argos, I believe, have a better chance of being profitable than TFC does. Furthermore, TFC has just lost their biggest protector in Leiweke. I am not sure that MLSE will be as enthusiastic to pay TFC players millions of dollars when they have seen little uptick in TV ratings and when it seems almost impossible to make a profit with that team given their present pay structure.

Probably about the same as any other AHL team. The Marlies may not be as profitable as most other AHL teams, but the Leafs figure they get more benefit from having them close by.

I have not driven to RC since last season, and have never driven to BMO, but I find it hard to believe that a 25-minute difference would a regular occurrence. They are too close to each other for that to be the case, if the Gardiner is not a mess and the Ex is not on. IMO.

Probably true, last time it only took us an extra 15 minutes when the CNE wasn't on.

and for people coming from the west, it would likely be 15-25 minutes less travel time.

I would assume so. We were coming from the North so it will be longer for those coming from the North or the East.

The Marlies have the highest ticket prices in the AHL and average 5k a game. On weekdays they get less sometimes much less, but the average is boosted during weekends, holidays and long weekend Monday games where they sometimes fill the Ricoh with 9k or 8700. (whatever capacity is) I was at a family day game at the ACC where they had 11k last season. Point is the Marlies do well and after struggling with attendance because fans were not accustomed to watching the AHL in the first few seasons, they have become a part of the sports scene in Toronto. Attendance has improved to the point of noticing that when the Leafs are not in town on a Saturday night, the Marlies will get a sellout or close to sellout crowd for a 5pm start time. (Hockey fans who want a live fix, of which there are many in the GTA)

I'm not the biggest MLSE fan because of how they run their individual sports teams (especially the NHL team), but they probably would have a positive effect on the Argos because of their ability to market thier brand by cross-promoting all their sports properties. This alone would probably give the Argos more exposure and would probably lead to more publicity in the media because MLSE does have the media in their back pocket for obvious reasons. (They're owned by them)

A look a our future stadium

can't see them holding grey cups under that set up. No where to add 15000 seats. Looks like the north end stays the same.

Looks like they have a north end patio which will go away in Football mode.

I assume the seats fold in on the south end ... that why the first 10ish rows are segmented

Looks to me that the Argos are getting the shaft once again and MLSE has made it clear that the designs are keeping the stadium soccer specific.

MLSE doesn't own BMO Field, the City of Toronto does. It's my understanding that the City has stipulated that Phase 3 includes a CFL Sized Field.

Yes, but he can use $100 bills to wipe of that drool from the money he's not putting into the Argos.

Which isn't very comforting since that didn't stop them from not including a CFL sized field in the first place.

If the $10 million comes in they are obligated to in Phase 3 of the renovations.

Big deal. Toronto is currently contractually obligated to build an LRT to replace the SRT, but that's almost certainly not happening if Tory or (God forbid) Ford wins.

The next council could also change the terms of the project.
