This is what Les is talking about: http://www.cfl.ca/article/mcadoo-dic...esks-new-staff

Six of Jones' seven assistants have been with the Argos in some capacity in the last two years. McAdoo IMO is the biggest loss as he coached Chris Van Zeyl and Jeff Keeping into CFL all-stars last year.

Yeah, hate to see MacAdoo leave but he got a nice promotion, so congrats to him. Considering how our defence played last season, I don't expect to miss Shivers or Philion very much. Can't wait to see who Milanovich hires to replace all these guys.

It's like someone just had the keys to the house and came in and robbed us....

For the assistants that left to take similar roles in Edm, is that a reflection on Milanovich/Barker?

Perhaps Shivers and Philion were Jones' guys in the first place. I don't know whether McCorvey was let go or chose to leave last season but I do know that he went on to coach HS. The article sounded like to chose to coach HS instead so I'm surprised to see him back but he did play with EDM. I agree though MacAddo will be a big loss but there was nothing we could do to keep him unless offer him the Assistant HC or GM role.

I agree that he is the big loss. Not too concerned about the defensive guys leaving as Burke likely will have guys that are more familiar with what he wants coming in.

I know Jones was given free reign to assemble his own team, but I think Kez McCorvey & Ed Hervey had a pretty good relationship as teammates back around 2000. Ed might have had some input on that one.
Of all the coaching staff signed to work under Jones, as an Esks fan I'm excited about McAdoo. I think Mike Reilly will be looking forward to some protection this year!

Steve McAdoo was the 2nd best o-line coach in the CFL behind Dan Dorazio in BC. We will miss him a ton. Helped out Van Zeyl, Keeping and especially turned Joe Eppelle into a pretty solid player. Wonder if Chad Folk can coach o-line.

LOL, I think that you would get a lot of disagreement from Lions fans on this one.

It is sad to see the troup go ...... I'm thinking that Burke may have requested to hire his own preferred staff to assist in the defence so some of the losses may have seen some writing on the wall.
Now I know what Montreal felt like when we hired Milanovich.
The McAdoo loss may be a harder position to fill ..... Hopefully Barker and Milanovich will be able to find a great replacement.

We had Trestman. He was supposed to be better. Go figure.
