Former Argo RB Phil Colwell speaks out about concussion issues

I don't remember Colwell at all - and he was an Argo for only three games - but found his story quite compelling: http://www.guelphmercury.com/sports-...ussion-injury/

Here are his CFL stats from the site that argofan87 gave earlier: http://www.justsportsstats.com/footb...id=colwephi001

Perhaps OV or some other CIS followers have more of a memory of Colwell. It is rather incredible how concussions were treated back in 1981.

Great find as always Ravi.I do recall Colwell as an Argo. Back in those days I had to listen to a lot of games on the radio, but I think I recall the game he was injured. Dan Manucci replaced Holloway at QB in Winnipeg that cool and windy day. I feel bad for the team Dr that instructed Phil to commute back home to Kitchener after the game.

Football and boxing (for example) are two sports that can, sometimes, be beautiful and exciting. Neither - as has heretofore always been the case - is without considerable chronic and acute danger.
