Sports Show at the International Centre

The Sports Show runs this weekend (May 2-4) at the International Centre. I was there tonight (Friday May 2) and it costs $12 to get in. If anyone is looking for CFL souvenirs, Redbeard's (Booth 40-43) has some CFL mini helmets for $15 (tax included). They include the Argos with the Jason logo, BC, Edmonton, and a couple of Grey Cup ones. They also have full size replica helmets for $90 and full size "on field" helmets for $180. They include the Argos with the (1995-2004) Jason logo and the 2005 logo, Saskatchewan with their old logo, BC, Renegades, and some Grey Cup ones including 2004 in Ottawa and 2012 in Toronto. The 2012 Grey Cup helmet in only available in the more expensive "on field" style. They also have Argo t-shirts for $10 (one style in light blue). Mikula Masks (Booth 900-902) has some nice CFL old style team logo patches for $10 each or 3 for $25. They include the Argos (1960's boat logo), Calgary, BC, Edmonton, and Montreal. The man at Hooked on Cards (Booth 403) is an Argo season ticket holder and always has some CFL stuff.

Good stuff. I used to go to this quite often (runs twice a year). Can't make it this weekend, but will try and make it in November.

Just got back from the Sports Show at the International Centre. Not many CFL items but Redbeard's has 3 different New Era Argo t-shirts and 1 New Era Argo hat for $15 each or 2 for $25. Another booth has some game worn CFL jerseys including 3 Argo ones (Folk, Waldrop, and someone else). Hooked on Cards has some CFL cards, pins, programs. A couple of booths have boxes of 2014 Upper Deck CFL cards. George Reed will be at the show on both Saturday and Sunday signing autographs. Please go to www.sportcardexpo.com for more information.

The Sports Show is this weekend so it's a month earlier than usual. Admission has gone up from $12 to $15 but a $3 off coupon is available on their website. I was there on Friday night and as usual, Redbeards had the most new CFL merchandise. CFL hats for $10 and t-shirts for $15. One booth that sells CFL Fathead stickers told me that Fathead no longer has a licence to sell CFL merchandise so he won't be able to get anymore stock. Another booth has game worn Ron Lancaster and George Reed Saskatchewan Roughriders jerseys for just $7500 each!

Just got back from the Sports Show but didn't see much CFL stuff. One booth had several CFL replica helmets with current and former logos including some US based teams. The guy buys blank helmets then paints them and applies the logos to them and they look really good. He charges $140 each or 2 for $220. I bought the Argo boat logo helmet but he had other Argo ones including the current logo, the Jason logo, the McNall logo and the Ornest logo. He also sells them on ebay. I can't remember the name of the booth but it is in Row 1100.

I just got back from the show. There was CFL stuff scattered at some of the booths. A few booths had hats, a few jerseys, and the helmet guy was there. Came away with nothing.
