Fan day 2014.

Looks like Argos fan day is back this year. Saw the below posted in Twitter. Don't know if I'll be able to make it, as I have a cast on my leg following surgery last week to repair a torn achilles. Hoping it will be at least a walking boot by then.

All this had me thinking as to why there was no fan day last year. I can't help but think it had more to do with the crappy UTM conditions than anything else. The team had no idea how bad the field was going to be, and I'm sure didn't want the fans to be stuck on a water filled field, yet at the same time, likely couldn't just move this type of event to the high school they often practiced at in Oakville.

I think you're probably right and I hope you will be able to make it out. Here's to a speedy recovery. I'm glad to see it's back. It's always been a fun event in the past.

Kudos to the Argos giving the fans advanced notice as well......this is the best time of hear to be a CFL fan!

LOL..Since I'm very immobile at the moment (thus killing my ability to get any junk food), I just may lose enough weight by then where you might be able to do that.

Not at all. :-) We all have different opinions but I enjoy the discussion. Besides it's the off season now, I'm sure that we'll be discussing the team itself a lot more once the season finally begins.

If this goes down without a work stopage, this looks like a great idea. In the past, they've done a walk through practice which is kind of boring. By adding a mock game to it, this should be good for all fans to attend...Too bad I won't be able to.

Yeah, I'm also going to miss the pre-season game. I never miss those.

They usually did mock games on another date, last year it was in Burlington after UTM kicked them off of their water logged field. Fine print says can be cancelled at any time, hoping it refers to the strike and not the fact that the Argos want to pull the plug just beacuse.

Thanks. Going to be a tough one. I've only missed about 5 games in total since the end of the '81 season. One for a wedding (2008, no big deal got squashed by Winnipeg), one for a stag party (1995..again no big deal, got squashed by Memphis Maddogs) and 3 because of playing/practice commitments when I played junior ball (1988 and 89). On the bright side, I managed to get a practice canceled in '88 when the Argos played Hamilton at the EX.

Crappy to hear that new Angelo. Never had a cast but have been seriously laid up with back issues etc.

I'm very happy about York this year. Should get there in under two hours from here with a stop in Brooklin at Baldwin St Burgers. Two young chefs banging out the best burgers in a great little location.

Guess I should look into 407 transponders. Hit the 407 home from Pearson last Thursday after a trip along the 401 and 404. That 407 hasn't changed since before we moved, it was clear sailing. Boring as hell but clear.
