Role Playing the Coach: Trim the team to 65 by Sunday

Okay, so you are the coach .... the team has to be down to 65 players on the roster by Sunday. I'm not sure how this works at this time. Can we put players on the PR and the injured reserve now? or ony when the team gets cut down to the 46?
    Anyway .....

Do you cut Gill altogether? or cut now and put him on the 9 game list (does that count at this time?)

Will Portis be put on the injured list or cut altogether?

Will Dupuis be sent back to school? he has another year of eligibility in Montreal with the Carabins
Same with Pszczonak will he go back to Windsor?

We have 86 on the roster as of June 11th .... 53 import 34 NI

Does Jasper go on the PR now?

With such a good stash of RBs .... can we hide one somewhere or trade?

Perhaps Milanovich's comments to Frank Zicarelli and others will help here: http://www.argonauts.ca/video/index/id/97083

It doesn't sound as though Portis will play in the second preseason game and Gill is out for a while and, I am guessing, will be released.

I'm betting a whole bunch of receivers will be cut.

Unfortunate about Gill. Nothing is worse than a player you believe shows promise getting hurt and resulting in their release.

A classic example of this was when the Argos released an injured Terrence Edwards back in 2005.

Good example...how many people recall Edwards in the Argo camp way back when? I am thinking Robert Gill (The Thrill) will be another Gerald Riggs Jr...but will be able to stick around longer. Did anyone actually see what happened to him?

Seemed to pull up lame on the first play from scrimmage as he went out of bounds. He shows great speed, but honestly, as a 30 year old league rookie, he may have been in tough to make the team anyways.

I agree, AV. He has great speed but being a good receiver is so much more than that. He was facemasked on that play and I thought that he might have injured his shoulder as it looked the trainer was looking in that direction but we didn't see much before the camera cut away.

Millington was stuck behind quite a few Canadian receivers so he was in tough to make the team. I understand that Martin was one of the DB's that struggled against the Blue Bombers. I cannot comment on Dixon or Presley.

I don't remember because I honestly did not pay attention to training camp that closely. The Argos receiving corps in 2005 was quite strong with Bruce, Miles and Baker so who knows how it may have played out.

Whoops. We just made an anti-cut!

He reminds me a bit of Major Culbert: not very tall (most sites list him as 5'10") but apparently a ferocious tackler.

The way I saw it he was taken out of bounds hard by Winnipeg DB Dunn and landed on his shoulder. There was a flag on the play for unnecessary roughness. I thought Dunn knew what he was doing, sending a message as it was just an exhibition game.
