I think Johnson will get more carries but Steele will be in for more snaps since he is probably a better blocker and receiver on passing downs. Can't wait to find out.

Paul's prediction is accurate IMO. I've never been too enamoured with STeele's running but I can see his value in blocking and catching passes - especially an advantage for him given the offence we run here. Also very curious to fiind out (and for steele to prove me wrong too!)

My prediction for tonight is 27-13 for the Argos. I think Winnipeg will be higher than a kite for their first regular season game at home this year. They will not want to see O'Shea put to shame by his old team. Could be a close game for a while and then Ricky Ray will find somebody open a few times to pull away. The Argos will be happy with the win and Winnipeg will be happy they held the Argos close for most of the game.

Prediction for the year is 14-4 if Ricky Ray is healthy. If not .... uh .... I'll have to get back to you on that one.

From the Winnipeg Sun. I think both Paul and Ravi are big fans of a no huddle/hurry up offence. Never knew this rule existed.

"One thing to watch tonight is if the Argos or the Bombers, for that matter, take advantage of the new CFL rule that doesn’t allow the defence to substitute players if the offence doesn’t. That could result in quite a few dead tired defensive players. It’ll be interesting to see if Ricky Ray and the Argos go to the hurry-up offence. Considering it’s just his fifth career start, it’s less likely that Marcel Bellefeuille will have Drew Willy do the same."

I think that every CFL offence should be using a hurry-up offence as part of their repertoire this year but I do feel that the Argos are especially well-positioned to do so given the continuity that they have on offence in regards to players and system. With the move, over the last few years, to more specialists on defence and increased substitutions, it only makes sense. The Argos will be facing a Gary Etcheverry-coached defence tonight and he would often substitute as many as five guys on defence during his most recent tenure in Saskatchewan. The Argos could cause him fits tonight.

I wonder what trick(s) O'Shea will have ready to play on the ARGOOOOOOOS! Whatever they are, it won't be enough to save the Bombed unless the Argos take them for granted (which is something the Argos have never done in 60 years, I am sure you all remember).

I'm sorry to see that Sinkfield is on the IR list as he seemed to add some spark to the team.

Surprisingly, one of the scratches is LB Greg Jones. The other scratch is receiver Natey Adjei.

Running game for the Argos could be interesting - how much will they use it? Johnson looks explosive - almost Kackert like in terms of style & build? Steele to be a DI since he plays STs well, but could be a factor too? Be interesting to see if Coombs gets any looks on offence - either to spell Durie at slot or from tailback. Gillanders could be an option too - productive CIS RB and athletic tester - but given he had all of zero carries in ex. games to show what he could do there, I'd guess he is a ST gunner only.

I see they're using poster cards on the sidelines for plays... dont recall ever seeing that before in CFL... I could be wrong of course.

It seems there's a lot more empty seats than last year. I guess the shine of the new stadium has worn off after the season Winnipeg had last year.
