    Season Ticket Holders

Disclaimer: I know not every STH would have attended last night.

However, given that it was general admission and I don't recall being asked whether or not I wanted a ticket the question needs to be asked. Do the Argos have only approximately 5000 STH's?

I would have guessed 5-6k in STHs prior to last night's game so I'm guessing that's about the number. sad yes but it's the truth.

There's little incentive for casual fans to buy seasons tickets with such a huge stadium and plenty of good seats available on a game-by-game basis...and fans knowing all the home games are on TV for free.

Good question. Someone mentioned in another Thread that their Argonauts ticket representative had said that they hoped to get to 10,000 season tickets this season. (I think that 10,000 was the number)

EDIT: Yeah it was 10,000. Mentioned here:

We decided not to make the trip in.

On a side note I gave the two bring a friend tickets to a good guy at our pet food and bird seed supplier in Lakefield so he could take his son. Both are huge sports fans but growing up in Peterborough have never attended an Argos game. He called leaving a message yesterday and was really excited. Hopefully when they go they'll have a fun experience and possibly hit a few more games.

Good job argoholic. If only the team would do as much as you just have to bring in new fans.

A true fan does not ask this type of a question?

I completely disagree. If that were true, there must be only 5,000 "true fans." The fact is, anyone can get great seats in every price range for every game. So as dans41 asked, what incentive is there for being a STH? A nice ticket booklet, but what else?

True enough. I also saw an email from the Argos a few days back. It was a free kids ticket to a game for every adult ticket purchased. As a STH with 4 seats (2 of them being for young kids) this deal would actually save me about $600 for the season! That's what you get for being a dedicated fan.

Agree with you....BUT did you call them on it to let them know you were pissed? I did I'm kinda in the same boat. Used the ticket exchange for tickets that are for a 7 year old before this offer came out. Because of the season ticket price you have to pay the extra to make up to the regular ticket price then you have to pay about $10 in service charges on the "free" ticket. At the end of the day my "free" platinum ticket was around $50???????

I always saw season tickets just as a bulk buy, with a discount per ticket compared to purchasing a regular single seat ticket x9. I believe STH also get a discount on extra single ticket. Other than that, you get a gift with your season and that's it. It's pretty much the same for every club. This year we did not have a STH event (town hall) whil other teams - Riders, Stamps, Lions did.

My family (3 seats) dropped our seasons 2 years ago with the odd home schedule and just couldn't commit to all 9 games but we are flex pack holders and also receive a discount on any extra ticket we purchase.

Now you have opened up a can of worms.
Why don't we talk about the Leafs, Craptors and Blue Jays as well.
MLSE has disrespected and gauged the fans for years and provided an inferior product for both teams, we won't even mention the minor league TFC operation.
Why don't we also throw in the one about the blackmailing the hockey fans to purchase bb tickets?
So by that rational, there should be no fans watching the hockey pucks or the round ball.
Being lied to, with inflated prices only "stupid fans" will pay is ok based on the rational here!

Just curious, with what are you so pissed about regarding being a STH? I never expected anything that will amaze me as a freebie and what exactly do the Argos don't do compared to the other teams (other than have a STH event) ?
