I'm sticking with the home teams this week, but still hoping Ottawa beats the Shmoes.

I agree with you on both counts, AV. I suspect that Montreal's defence is going to do to Winnipeg what they did to B.C. last week.

Kevin Glenn (AV's favourite QB) hurt the Lions offence more than the Montreal D did.

I give Montreal the edge as the home team. I might have very well selected Winnipeg if the game was there as opposed to at Percival Molson.

Perhaps the same situation with Ottawa against the Eskimos. I guess the Redblacks could win, but I feel safer with the home team in this matchup.

The Roughriders are probably all over the Lions on Saturday.

B.C.'s offensive line was dominated in that game and I suspect the same will happen with Winnipeg's, especially with the Bombers' best o-lineman, Chris Greaves, out of the lineup.

Ryan Cave who just arrived in Vancouver a couple days prior to the game had his struggles...

I still don't get why Glenn gets so much love from media. They go on about the fact that Calgary was 20-8 with him as a starter the last 2 years. Well overall, they were 27-9. That means they were 7-1 when someone other than him started.

I've said it all along, he is a decent back-up. His Calgary record was more a result of how good that team has been. Not him.

Ad he still has yet to play 2 good playoff games in the same year. When he has played one good game, he has always followed it up with a stinker.

Those who have met him have said that Glenn is a super nice guy. Perhaps, it's a case of wanting him to succeed for that reason?

The Winnipeg-Montreal game seemed to drag on forever with the endless penalties, but you couldn't ask for a better 4th quarter.

That game ran for over 3 and a half hours. There were far too many penalties while challenges were not resolved in a timely fashion. After the two games last night, I am as confused as ever about what constitutes pass interference and roughing the passer. In regards to PI, there have been four challenges of PI which come to mind and I have gotten it wrong each time as to what the Command Centre considers to be interference. Regarding roughing the passer, it now seems as though you can't even tackle the QB without getting a roughing the passer. Dave Foxcroft made an absolutely ridiculous call in the Ottawa/Edmonton game last night when a defensive lineman for the RedBlacks sacked Mike Reilly and seemed to do so cleanly and yet was flagged for roughing the passer. While I doubt that it impacted the outcome of the game, it did allow for Edmonton to score a TD when they should have been held to a FG at the most. That TD effectively put the game away for the Esks.

I didn't see much of either game, but I did see a late-game PI review that completely flummoxed me. The Wpg defender did not look back at the ball and wrapped his arms around S.J. Green's midsection, preventing him from catching the pass. Mtl challenged and I thought for sure it would be ruled PI, but it wasn't and there was no explanation from Al Bradbury. Even Duane Forde, who seldom criticizes anything, could be heard muttering something like, "o-kaaaay."

That call was one of the calls which perplexed me. Earlier in the game Geoff Tisdale was called for interference in the endzone on a Winnipeg receiver (Moore?) after O'Shea challenged the play. There was some hand fighting on that play but I really did not think that Tisdale had prevented the receiver from catching the ball by illegal means. Anyway, O'Shea's challenge was successful and the Bombers scored a TD from the one-yard line on the next play. At that point, I was thinking once again that they must be calling this "by the book" at the Command Centre until I saw that late interference you referred to, Paul, not get called.

Winnipeg has been the greatest beneficiaries of the new rules regarding replay being used on PI and I haven't agreed with any of the three calls that the Bombers have benefited from so far this season.
