It is that 'cut and dried' it's in the CBA Section 15.

If your going to pay him, you put him on the 6 game injured list at this point and tell him to go home, or tell him to look for a trade that could help the Argos.

Why? if he's a cancer (and I'm not saying he is, but it certainly seems possible, given his background and his on-field antics this season), you cut it out -- you don't put a patch on it. If he gets cut and goes somewhere else, so be it -- you're better off without him than with him lurking somewhere on the fringes of the roster. Also, if he's not injured and you put him on the six-game, he could presumably file a grievance -- another headache the team doesn't need.

Thanks for the CBA reference. I assume you're basing it on the 2010 CBA, which is the only version I've been able to find online. I think it's a fairly safe assumption that that article was not changed in the 2014 agreement, altho it's at least remotely possible that it was tweaked to reflect the fact that teams are getting to nine games at different dates this year (Argos and two others have played nine; Hamilton, rather bizarrely, has played just seven),

I wish I saw the confrontation with the coaches. Who would trade for Anderson after all headaches he seems to cause every where be goes?

I think the CBA States 'member club' The only reason I was saying not to release him was because he's salary would still count against the cap. But if rumours are true it appears the Argos don't care about that and may release him today.

And with the little amount of money the team has been able to spend, I honestly don't see them near the top of the cap anyways.

LOL..now that he has officially been cut, the Argos website has taken down an Argos Admirals interview that just went up a couple of days ago with Anderson.

LOL, it was an interview with a kid in Regina. I saw that on Facebook, I think, yesterday and thought that they might have to take it down fairly soon.

BTW, I am glad that Johnson was released. I found him to be a frustrating back to watch.

I wonder why they released him, probably didn't like his influence on/off the field.

That pretty much sums it up. No denying that he has the talent to be a good player, but this is now the 5th team that he has worn out his welcome with.

I'd be shocked if we signed any high-ticket players for the rest of this season.

After piddling away 120,000+ in cap room?
$60,000 for bringing Ownes back 1 game early from the 6 game injured list. and whatever was left on Andersons Salary I doubt it.

Salary cap room matters only if the team is willing to spend the "saved" money. I'm not optimistic that our owner is willing to do so.
