Chad Kelly + Dan Adeboboye + David Ungerer + Damonte Coxie + DaVaris Daniels + Dejon Brissett = Unstoppable Force
Maybe. Every grand-opening-date so far has been missed. Wouldn't count on this one.
Faster + Louder = Better
I don't see the Hammer opening a new stadium until 2015.
IMO there is no chance they will not open the new stadium on Labour Day. It clearly won't be finished -- in fact it probably won't be finished until after the season -- but IMO there is no way they don't get it done enough to open on LDay. (And I'm not just saying that because I have tickets.)
I'm off to Australia (maybe I'll catch an Aussie rules football game), New Zealand and Fiji but will be back the day before Labour Day. I wouldn't miss a Labour Day Classic even if it's only on TV in Vancouver, whether it's in the new stadium or not.
I agree, there is so much to lose that it does seem unfathomable that it won't be ready. It became official yesterday that the Aug 16 game is a no go, but a proposed schedule is in place for Labour Day. I'm leaning toward that it won't be made safe enough to be ready, but it's 50/50 IMO.
Care to make a friendly wager Paul, maybe involving your great book?
Went by it this weekend and man have they got a long way to go. They need a lot of safety railings and seats that are visibly not finished, let alone the plumbing which would be important for a venue hosting thousands of people. The whole place won't be finished, but they still have a whole month before Labour Day.
