I don't think the PR expansion (from 10 to 15 players) happens until 30 days after NFL cut down day, Ravi.

this is because with most teams, the nfl cuts are only given a look for next years TC fodder, not to play this year. useless you have major injuries at one position

Greenwood was released by Detroit two weeks ago and has, apparently, been negotiating with the Argos but they have been unable to reach an agreement.

That's interesting. I thought both Pachall and Smith looked like pretty decent long-term prospects.

I'm pretty surprised by this as well. Wonder if Pachall didn't want to stick around and not get a game cheque any longer.

Didn't Pachall's father think that he was going to come to the CFL and start right away? If the son had a similar attitude maybe he got discouraged when he realized that he wouldn't have that chance for another few years.

I notice Argo 2014 draft pick, Windsor U receiver Evan Pzconek (sp) is tearing up the OUA after 2 games, averaged over 24 yrd per catch on 13 grabs, 4 going for scores. I know he is a little undersized, but I would like to see him come back to camp in 2015.

Haven't heard from OV in awhile, wonder what he thinks. Anyways, he be picked up by another team as a free agent when the CIS season finishes before the Argos even get a chance.

Unless Pachall has a NFL team interested in him, he could get a look from some of the other CFL teams that have lost QB's to the injury bug. The guy has a big time accurate arm from what I saw in TC. Apparently the NFL passed on him because of off field problems in the last draft.

Other CFL teams might take a look at him but it still won't solve his Dad's problem with wanting him on the field right away. At best he would move into the #3 spot in a place like Saskatchewan but that is the best he can hope for at this point.

Regarding Underwood, his release is somewhat surprising but I am guessing that he never returned to the team after leaving in mid-week. Milanovich had expected him back after a one-day absence IIRC as per an interview posted on argonauts.ca.

Underwood has addressed the reason, according to him at least, for his release on Twitter:

Wow...if he was released for going home under those circumstances, that is a bunch of B.S. and kind of embarrassing. I wonder if the lack of funds available for football operations played into this. Perhaps cutting him was the only way to get in another body.

If true, that reflects extremely poorly on the Argonauts and Canadian Football League.

Angelo, I would take it further and say it is extremely embarrassing.

Isn't there some recourse through the CFLPA?
