Waters misses that FG and it becomes a nervous finish. Huge play.

That game was all kinds of awesome and such a relief! Owens and Durie on the field at the same time make a huge difference and Slaton and Brazill redeemed themselves as well. Brand new season now!

    .

Wow, huge relief. I didn't feel secure until the Steele touchdown!

Very very happy with the running game. Both Slaton and Steele were good. O line had another huge game. Receivers started out good, but didn't exactly blow me away later in the game. What a difference with Owens out there! Milano vice has to take him off returns. Keep him to receiving duties, and only then when the game is close. Happy for Brazill, great bounce - back game.

I thought the D line was good. Kept pressure on Glenn. They got robbed of a defensive td by the ref. Shea Emry had a great game.

Complaints: Very poor tackling in the secondary. Robinson had an awful first half. Seemed to shape up in the second. I thought Smith had a terrible game missing all kinds of tackles, and Agnew missed a bunch in the second half.

What a difference a win makes. Great to beat BC in BC. Great bounce back game, Argonauts!

The head referee that I have the least confidence in is Hamilton's Dave Foxcroft who made that awful call tonight.

Anyway, a solid all-round victory for the Argos tonight. If they can beat Edmonton in two weeks, they will have gone 4-6 against the West this season with only a poor finish in Calgary preventing them from a 5-5 record.

They play five of their final six at home and five of their final six against eastern opponents. They registered a 2-4 record in the second third of the season after going 2-4 in the first third. My expectations are much higher for the final third. I expect no less than a 4-2 record but, frankly, am hopeful for 5-1 or even 6-0. I still think that it will take 9 wins to finish first in the East this season.

Many of the positives of tonight's victory have already been mentioned but I especially liked the bounce back games from Slaton and Brazill who were the two goats last week. Their performances tonight showed me a lot. Also, is there a better kicker in the game than Swayze Waters? I truly believe that he has now surpassed Justin Medlock as the best in the business. Finally, can anyone question the importance of Owens and Durie to this team? Those two are simply elite players and not easily replaceable. The Argos are a much different and better team with both in the lineup.

I thought Agnew had a great game. He looked great blitzing Glenn, and he looked great in coverage. Greg Jones was a beast all over the field, his arrival has transformed this defence, even Emry played his best game as an Argo. Okpalaugo is an all-star. This defence is coming on big time.

I'm with Ravi. There's no reason the Argos can't run the table the rest of the way IF they can stay healthy. A winning streak will finally wake fans up. By the last game of the season, Sid Sixiero will be exhorting listeners to buy Argo tickets, and nearly 40,000 will show up for the Eastern Final.

    Pinball's ring stolen

This is the equivalent of stealing from the collection plate or the Pope's ring.

I think that Hamilton will beat Edmonton and that Ottawa will keep it close against Saskatchewan. Montreal's defence will have to play "lights out" against Calgary to give them a chance at victory.

Regarding Hamilton, I don't expect many losses from them the rest of the way which is why the Argos have to keep winning and need to beat the Ticats twice at home during the stretch run in order to finish in first place.

So, despite the depth chart, the D was actually:

    Smith-Agnew-Gabriel-Suber-Carter
    Agnew-Emry-Jones
    Whiteside-Johnson-Laing-Okpalaugo

...with O Johnson checking in and D Johnson checking out when we went 3 front on passing downs?

I wasn't clear on how Ware and Davis were being used. But hey, I might actually re-watch a happy game like this so I can figure that out.

It was great seeing Pinball there and even seeing him grabbing water bottles for players. A dang shame if someone took his ring. I mean this may be an example of him being too nice but I always respected his attitude that without the fans, there would be no ring for him to have and that he was so willing to let others try it on. I hope whoever took it does the right thing.
