    Will Kackert ever return?

I know shortly after he "retired" there were suggestions that one day we may actually see Chad back in uniform.
Although there are no specifics, the mere fact he continues to stick around officially as a condition coach may bode well for his return maybe next year?
    Here is an update.

Milo didn't actually close the door on an eventual return for Kackert. Sounds and looks like Kackert is working towards a return at some point, maybe next year. But as Frank states, surely the Argos can find some RB who can run and block. Looking around the League just about every team has good sized RB who fits that bill. Staton has some good moves but he isn't the type of back that can get those tough yards when needed. Backs like Cornish (6'0 220) don't grow on trees, but to me he is the prototype kind of back they should be looking for.

I see Ottawa RedBlacks are holding two free agent camps down South in October. Something new for a CFL team as far as I know for this time of year. Might be a good idea for Jim Barker to see if they can unearth a big Back who has fallen through the NFL cracks and is out on the street waiting for a chance somewhere.

I would love to see Kackert return. He had such explosive burst of speed and it was always a beautiful thing to watch him drop a gear to leave the defense in his wake.

Would be great to see him back but I have my doubts, pretty devastating injury and although he is showing some straight ahead speed in practice sessions that is a far cry from making cuts and fighting through tackles at the same time.
Hopefully Kackert is extremely careful in considering any comeback as another similar injury could adversely effect his quality of life.

Wow, how refreshing for a team to do this and especially as this is opposite of what the Renegades did during the last unprofessional run in that city.
A first class operation, something the Argos can hopefully pick up on?

Frank Z in his article today again mentions Chad and how it appears it will be only a matter of time before he returns?

I really believe that he will play again but it may not be until next season.

Kackert has been added to the PR so it looks like he might return sooner rather than later (I hope): http://www.argonauts.ca/article/toro...ractice-roster

You're right, Argo57, but he also missed six weeks because of a knee injury last year and has had other issues. Let's just hope he can stay healthy in general!

Yeah I know but I suspect the surgically rebuilt ankle is what they will be keeping a close eye on, I really hope this works out, would hate to see Kackert disabled long term with another injury to the same ankle.

This is good news but I think it would be beat to temper any expectations. The injury was bad enough that just a few months ago the likelihood of any return was so slim that retirement was the best option. Chad must be feeling much better since then to be added to the PR but to expect him to be able to come back to the team and be a bigger contributor than Steele or Slaton may be too much to ask for and setting yourself up for disappointment.

No one could be happier to see Kackert back in the double blue more than me, but I hope he doesn't sacrifice his health to relive his glory days.
